Extracting Conceptual Relationships from Specialized Documents

Data & Knowledge Engineering, 2002
Conceptual modeling has been fundamental to the management of structured data. However, its value is increasingly being recognized for knowledge management in general. In trying to develop suitable conceptual models for unstructured information, issues such as the level of representation and complexity of processing techniques arise.

Rule extraction in gene–disease relationship discovery

Gene, 2013
Biomedical data available to researchers and clinicians have increased dramatically over the past years because of the exponential growth of knowledge in medical biology. It is difficult for curators to go through all of the unstructured documents so as to curate the information to the database.

Quantitative structure–extraction relationships: a model for supercritical fluid extraction

The Analyst, 1993
A rapid method for predicting the solubility of an analyte in supercritical carbon dioxide is reported. The method is based on determining the hydrophobic interaction and the solubility parameter from easily obtained constants. The simplicity of the method is demonstrated with respect to a group of substituted benzophenones.

Extracting and Representing Relationships

2017
The relationship extraction between different recognized entities defines the second level of operations in a knowledge pipeline after the recognition. While the recognition concentrates on identifying and labeling individual entities from the sensor data, relationships explicitly demonstrate the connections between the entities.

Blog-based online social relationship extraction

2009 8th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Informatics, 2009
With the number of participants in online social networks increasing dramatically, an intelligent and efficient social relationship management system is necessary for online users. The traditional linear social entity list representation would become problematic while the network grows larger.
