Relationships between Mean, Median and Mode

open access: yesAloha International Journal of Multidisciplinary Advancement (AIJMU), 2021
Statistics as an analysis technique can not only be used to make descriptions, but also to make estimates and generalizations. To be able to know and deepen knowledge about statistics, knowledge of research methodology must be possessed. In this study will discuss the arithmetic mean, median and mode for single data and group data, and the related ...

Bogoliubov Theory and Lee-Huang-Yang Corrections in Spin-1 and Spin-2 Bose-Einstein Condensates in the Presence of the Quadratic Zeeman Effect

open access: yes, 2010
We develop Bogoliubov theory of spin-1 and spin-2 Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) in the presence of a quadratic Zeeman effect, and derive the Lee-Huang-Yang (LHY) corrections to the ground-state energy, sound velocity, and quantum depletion.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Relationship of self-focusing to spatial instability modes [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1974
The spatial distribution of focal spots formed when laser beams self- focus in materials is shown to originate from the growth of certain instability modes. These modes are determined by a simple mathematical relationship derived from instability theory, which has been verified experimentally.

Working and Assembly Modes of the Agile Eye [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper deals with the in-depth kinematic analysis of a special spherical parallel wrist, called the Agile Eye. The Agile Eye is a three-legged spherical parallel robot with revolute joints in which all pairs of adjacent joint axes are orthogonal. Its

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Weakly collisional Landau damping and three-dimensional Bernstein-Greene-Kruskal modes: New results on old problems

open access: yes, 2011
Landau damping and Bernstein-Greene-Kruskal (BGK) modes are among the most fundamental concepts in plasma physics. While the former describes the surprising damping of linear plasma waves in a collisionless plasma, the latter describes exact undamped ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Pattern Formation by Boundary Forcing in Convectively Unstable, Oscillatory Media With and Without Differential Transport

open access: yes, 2004
Motivated by recent experiments and models of biological segmentation, we analyze the exicitation of pattern-forming instabilities of convectively unstable reaction-diffusion-advection (RDA) systems, occuring by means of constant or periodic forcing at ...
