OPTIMIZING QUANTUM RÉNYI RELATIVE ENTROPY BETWEEN UNITARY ORBITS

open access: yesTạp chí Khoa học Đại học Đà Lạt
Quantum relative entropy is a pivotal concept in quantum information theory. This study focuses on the quantum Rényi relative entropy and investigates the minimal and maximal values of this particular type of relative entropy between unitary orbits.

Computational Relative Entropy

open access: yes
Our capacity to process information depends on the computational power at our disposal. Information theory captures our ability to distinguish states or communicate messages when it is unconstrained with unrivaled elegance. For computationally bounded observers the situation is quite different.

Uhlmann’s Theorem for Relative Entropies

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory
Uhlmann's theorem states that, for any two quantum states $ρ_{AB}$ and $σ_A$, there exists an extension $σ_{AB}$ of $σ_A$ such that the fidelity between $ρ_{AB}$ and $σ_{AB}$ equals the fidelity between their reduced states $ρ_A$ and $σ_A$. In this work, we generalize Uhlmann's theorem to $α$-Rényi relative entropies for $α\in [\frac{1}{2},\infty]$, a ...

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Effect of chemotherapy on passenger mutations in metastatic colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Changes in passenger mutation load and predicted immunotherapy response after chemotherapy treatment. Tumor cells rich with passenger mutations have increased sensitivity to chemotherapy. Correlation of passenger mutations with neoantigen load suggests highly mutated clones promote a more effective response to immunotherapy, and therefore, first‐line ...

Consistency of EFT illuminated via relative entropy: a case study in scalar field theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Relative entropy is a non-negative quantity and offers a powerful means of achieving a unified understanding of fundamental properties in physics, including the second law of thermodynamics and positivity bounds on effective field theories (EFTs).

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.
