Variation of the relative permittivity of charged dielectrics
Applied Physics Letters, 1998The variation of the relative permittivity of charged dielectrics with trapped charge density has been investigated by a time-resolved current method, in conjunction with a mirror image method employing a scanning electron microscope. The calculation is made by a mathematical expression derived from classical electromagnetic theory.

Relative Permittivity Measurements of Carbon Dioxide + Ethanol Mixtures
Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, 2011The relative permittivities (er) of carbon dioxide (CO2) + ethanol mixtures (0.050, 0.100, 0.152, and 0.212 mass fractions of ethanol) were measured at (303 to 333) K in the pressure range (7.2 to 30.8) MPa using a direct capacitance method.

Relative Permittivity Assessment of Oil-Impregnated Cellulose Insulation
2020Insulating system of a power transformer consists of an insulating liquid (mineral oil or ester liquid) and cellulose-based materials (paper and pressboard). Dielectric properties of an insulating material may be expressed in terms of relative permittivity and material conductivity. Material conductivity influences electric fields in power transformers

Relative Permittivity Variation Surrounding PCB Via Hole Structures
2008 12th IEEE Workshop on Signal Propagation on Interconnects, 2008As integrated circuit technology advancements are pushing data rates to 6 Gb/s and beyond, channel simulations are becoming a necessity. As part of the topology modeling and simulation, the correct value of permittivity surrounding a printed circuit board (PCB) via hole structure is required for better accuracy.

A Review of Empirical Methods to Estimate Relative Permittivity
2018 17th International Conference on Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), 2018Four empirical models to estimate the relative permittivity of soil are tested based on a new database of relative permittivity measurements on soils. The selected models are Topp et. al. CRIM, SMDM, and GRMDM. The new database of relative permittivity measurements consists of 124 measurements on five different soils measured at a range of porosities ...

Double-layer studies in solutions of low relative permittivity
Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions, 1997The capacitance of various electrolytes in dichloroethane, anisole and cyclohexane solutions are measured at a platinum electrode. It is found that specific adsorption occurs at large overpotentials from the potential of zero charge (pzc), but a diffuse-layer minimum is observed close to the pzc.

Relative permittivity and dielectric relaxation in aqueous alcohol solutions
Fluid Phase Equilibria, 1998Abstract In this work, our objective was to study the hydrogen bonding of alcohols in aqueous solutions and alcohol dipole relaxation by measuring the complex permittivity. Alcohols chosen for study were methanol, ethanol and propanol over the full composition range and from 297–363 K. Measurements were made with a frequency domain technique from 100

Determining the relative permittivity of deep embedded biological tissues
2013 US National Committee of URSI National Radio Science Meeting (USNC-URSI NRSM), 2013Human tissue characterization, deep into the body, has been of interest for decades. X-rays are used for locating tumors. However, such surgery-free identification methods fail to verify whether tumors are benign or malignant without surgical extraction and testing of sample tissue.

Relative Permittivity Measurement of 3D-textile
2016The paper deals with the relative permittivity determination of the 3D-textile by a transmission line method (TLM). Measuring points are shifted to avoid inaccuracies caused by transitions between a coaxial cable and a microstrip line. A substrate where the microstrip line is designed is composed of three layers where one layer (3D-textile) has unknown
