The relative permittivity of supercooled water

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1978
Approximate relative permittivity data for water down to −35°C have been derived from measurements of the Maxwell–Wagner interfacial polarization which occurs at the surface of emulsified water droplets. Although the emulsifying agent strongly influences this polarization in a complex way, a novel method of data analysis enables the permittivity and ...

Relative complex permittivity and its dependence on frequency

World Journal of Engineering, 2017
Purpose This paper aims to give a brief overview of dielectric properties, relative complex permittivity and its dependence on frequency. The significance of different approaches to complex permittivity is also discussed. Design/methodology/approach The different mechanisms of polarization are then presented.

Measurements of Microstrip Effective Relative Permittivities

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1987
This paper presents normalized wide-bandwidth measurements of microstrip effective relative pemrittivities (epsilon/sub eff/) which were made on large-scale microstrip models. The experimental techniques are discussed, and the data are compared to the predictions of two recent closed-form design equations.

Relative permittivity detector for cable insulators

PowerCon 2000. 2000 International Conference on Power System Technology. Proceedings (Cat. No.00EX409), 2002
This paper presents a new measurement technique of relative permittivity (/spl epsi//sub r/) for cable insulators. The travelling wave and reflection wave theory are applied to generate low voltage pulse signal feeding cable lines that need to know /spl epsi//sub r/ of insulators.

Electrical conductivity and relative permittivity of KHCO3

Physica Status Solidi (a), 1994
The electrical conductivity σ and the relative permittivity (κ) as function of temperature 300 K < T < 400 K are measured and presented for potassium hydrogen carbonate KHCO3. It seems likely that the compound undergoes tow structural phase transitions at ≈ 318 and ≈ 365 K.

The Contemporary Definition of Complex Relative Permittivity

Journal of ASTM International, 2008
Abstract ASTM D150 [Standard Test Methods for AC Loss Characteristic and Permittivity (Dielectric Constant) of Solid Electrical Insulation, 2004] is the standard for measurement of alternating current (AC). Aimed at an analysis of this standard and proceeding from the information transmission characteristic of the dielectric, the ...

Static relative permittivity of electrolyte solutions

Electrochimica Acta, 1988
Abstract An equation has been derived for the calculation of static relative permittivity in concentrated electrolyte solutions, which takes into account both the volume exclusion by the ions and the effect of dielectric saturation caused by the strong electric field of the ions.

Variation of the relative permittivity of charged dielectrics

Applied Physics Letters, 1998
The variation of the relative permittivity of charged dielectrics with trapped charge density has been investigated by a time-resolved current method, in conjunction with a mirror image method employing a scanning electron microscope. The calculation is made by a mathematical expression derived from classical electromagnetic theory.
