Flip-chip distributed MEMS transmission lines (DMTLs) for biosensing applications

open access: yes, 2008
Design and characterization of a flip-chip distributed MEMS transmission line (DMTL) are presented. The concept of using this DMTL as a biosensor is then introduced. Radio frequency experiments on the DMTL loaded with biosamples have been conducted using

An Underwater Wireless Sensor Network with Realistic Radio Frequency Path Loss Model

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2013
We propose an Underwater Wireless Sensor Network (UWSN) for near-shore applications using electromagnetic waves (EM). We also introduce a realistic path loss model for estimating the attenuation encountered by EM waves in underwater environments.

Microstrip Patch Sensor for Salinity Determination

open access: yesSensors, 2017
In this paper, a compact microstrip feed inset patch sensor is proposed for measuring the salinities in seawater. The working principle of the proposed sensor depends on the fact that different salinities in liquid have different relative permittivities ...

Microfluidic Flexible Substrate Integrated Microstrip Antenna Sensor for Sensing of Moisture Content in Lubricating Oil

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2020
In this paper, a flexible microstrip patch antenna sensor is proposed for monitoring of the moisture content of lubricating oil. The sensor identifies liquids having different effective dielectric constants by detecting changes in the resonance frequency.

Titanium Suboxides Responsible for Electronic Anomaly Near Room Temperature in the Ti3C2Tx MXene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Our multi‐technique study reveals that the near‐room‐temperature anomaly in Ti3C2Tx MXene is linked to titanium suboxide nanodomains, including Ti3O5, embedded within the MXene host. Their temperature‐driven transformation provides an alternative explanation to solvent‐ and swelling‐based models and offers new insight into the thermally activated ...

Multiresonator-Based Printable Chipless RFID for Relative Humidity Sensing

open access: yesProceedings, 2017
We present a chipless RFID for relative humidity sensing. It consists of three spiral resonators coupled to a 50 Ω microstrip line. One resonator is used for humidity sensing, and the other two are used for encoding ID.
