Relative precision in the inductive assertion method

1997
The inductive assertion method of Floyd is here applied to programs involving floating point numbers, using a new verification condition generator for C programs known as ProveIt. The exit assertions of such programs need to state that the answers are correct to within some tolerance.

Precise relative cross sections for np scattering

Nuclear Physics A, 1994
Abstract We present data on the differential cross section for neutron-proton scattering for an incident neutron energy of 67 MeV. These data allow a precise determination of the 1P1 phase which, in phase-shift analyses, is strongly correlated with the S-D amplitude which we are measuring via different observables.

Relativity studies with high-precision astrometry

SPIE Proceedings, 1998
The last decade of the 20th century has seen the development of extremely sensitive instruments based on new emerging technologies. These instruments, which are widely distributed on Earth and currently being deployed in space, have provided the means necessary to prove more deeply into the nature and evolutionary history of the universe. Together with

Design of precision measurement circuits for the relative humidity

SPIE Proceedings, 2009
The two methods of the relative humidity measurement are introduced in this paper. The one is adopting transistor and operational amplifier to compose a logarithmic amplifier, by which to realize the linearization of exponent mode character curve of moisture-sensitive resistor. And using the positive temperature coefficient of the adjustable current

High Precision Relative Localization Using a Single Camera

Proceedings 2007 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2007
In this paper a method for high precision relative localization using a single camera is proposed. The method provides pose estimates comparable in resolution to wheel odometry, but being independent of the kinematics and based on an exteroceptive sensor, is resistant to wheel slippage.

Design and Test of High Precision Relative Thermometer

2013 Fifth International Conference on Measuring Technology and Mechatronics Automation, 2013
The relative thermometer is designed for monitoring the cave's temperature where the deformation instrument placed in. This paper mainly introduced the circuit design of the relative thermometer, discuss its theoretic error range and validate the reliability of measuring.

Precision engineering and Einstein: The Relativity Gyroscope experiment

Precision Engineering, 1979
Abstract One hundred years after Einstein's birth and sixty-four years after the publication of his theory of gravity, General Relativity remains one of the least tested of physical theories. This paper outlines the status of Einstein's tests and goes on to describe a new test, the Relativity Gyroscope experiment, made possible by two relatively new ...

The Precision and Relative Accuracy of Profiler Wind Measurements

Journal of Atmospheric and Oceanic Technology, 1987
Abstract Two independent wind profiles were measured every hour during February 1986 with a five-beam, UHF (405 MHz) wind Profiler at Platteville, Colorado. Our analysis of the horizontal wind components over all heights for the entire month gave a standard deviation of about 1.3 m s−1 for the measurement errors one can expect for three-beam Profilers ...

A liquid-filled ionization chamber for high precision relative dosimetry

Physica Medica, 2011
Radiosurgery and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) treatments are based on the delivery of narrow and/or irregularly shaped megavoltage photon beams. This kind of beams present both lack of charged particle equilibrium and steep dose gradients.

On the relative precision of several allocations in stratified sampling

Statistica Neerlandica, 1987
MOORS (1973) gave lower bounds for the relative precision of different allocations compared to Neyman allocation in stratified sampling. These results are extended here to the relative precision with respect to optimal allocation. A result of COCHRAN (1977) is generalized.
