Packaging of Macroscopic Material Payloads: Needs, Challenges, Concepts, and Future Directions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This review introduces a unified framework that decomposes any macroscopic packaging system into the payload, packaging material, and packaging strategy and combines them into a conceptual packaging equation: packaging strategy = payload + packaging material.

Adaptive tensor train learning algorithm based on single-aspect streaming model

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2023
An adaptive tensor train (TT) learning algorithm for the online decomposition problem of high-order tensors in single-aspect streaming model was investigated.Firstly, it was deduced that single-aspect streaming increment only changes the dimension of ...

Metody Zastosowania Rachunku Tensorowego w Technice

open access: yesEngineering Transactions, 1954
The author's aim is to determine the degree of utility of the tensor calculus in various branches of technical sciences and to discuss the application of the classical methods of tensor analysis to technical problems.

Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Piezoresistive Monitoring of Carbon Nanomaterial‐Reinforced Epoxy Composites Under Cyclic and Fatigue Loading: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Carbon nanomaterial‐reinforced epoxy composites exhibit pronounced piezoresistive behavior, enabling intrinsic damage sensing under cyclic and fatigue loading. This review critically compares carbon nanotube and graphene systems, correlating filler content, percolation threshold, and gauge factor with sensing stability and damage evolution.

Oxide‐Free Titanium Coatings by Wire Arc Spraying in a Silane‐Doped Inert Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A silane‐doped argon atmosphere enables the production of oxide‐free titanium coatings via twin‐wire arc spraying at ambient pressure. This innovative approach eliminates residual oxygen, creating process conditions that prevent oxidation and nitride formation.

Application of Raman and Photoluminescence Spectroscopy to MgO‐C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Visible to near infrared luminescence of MgO is studied on MgO‐C bricks and nominally pure MgO powder, with focus on two similar sharp high‐intensity signals, at 699 and 871 nm, each surrounded by symmetrical sidebands. The nature of these sidebands is investigated by temperature‐dependent spectroscopic measurements, confirming phonon involvement by ...

On the Relative Non-Abelian Tensor Product of a Pair of Prime Power Groups

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Extension, 2015
Let (G,N) be a pair of prime power groups. We give a new upper bound for |N G|, where N G is the non-abelian tensor product of N and G. Among other results, the relative Schur multiplier of free product of groups is determined under some ...

Characteristic Classes and Weyl Tensor: Applications to General Relativity [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1970
In a recent paper, Chern and Simons proved that the Pontrjagin forms of a Riemannian manifold remain invariant under a conformal deformation. We show that these forms can be expressed uniquely in terms of the conformal curvature tensor: this provides a new proof of their result.
