Electron Density Structure Measurements With Scattered Intense Laser Beam

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Short‐pulse intense lasers have the potential to model extreme astrophysical environments in laboratories. Although there are diagnostics for energetic electrons and ions resulting from laser‐plasma interactions, the diagnostics to measure velocity distribution functions at the interaction region of the laser and plasma are limited.

Universal and Relative Rationality

open access: yesPrincipia: An International Journal of Epistemology, 2009
In this paper I illustrate how a basic kind of universal rationality can be profitably combined with undeniable instances of relativism. I do so by engaging Michael Friedman’s recent response to a challenge from Thomas Kuhn.

On the Origin of Solvent‐Dependent Ultraviolet–Visible Spectral Behavior of the Complexes [R3PAuCl]n (R = H, Me and Et, n = 1,2)

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
For the linear gold complexes R3PauCl, R = H, Me, Et, immersed in solvent, a dimer aggregation model is required to achieve good agreement between the calculated and experimental absorption spectra using a spin‐orbit/relativistic/solvent model approximation. The solvatochromic effect increases with the dielectric constant up to a saturation point.

Relativization in Swedish

open access: yesLinguistica, 1987
Relativization is a widespread syntactic and pragmatic strategy, found in such di verse languages as Arabic and Korean, Nahuatl and German (The Chicago Which Which Hunt 1972). It is a process of modifier formation producing relative clauses (RC), which can serve several pragmatic functions, such as supplying new informa tion, emphasis, cohesion etc ...

Measurement Invariance of Human Values Across Time and Countries—An Analysis Using 11 Rounds of the European Social Survey

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Social Psychology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Values have become central to the study of social and psychological processes across cultures and across time. To date, there has been no conclusive analysis of the cross‐cultural and cross‐temporal comparability of values in Europe. We conduct invariance tests of the Portrait Values Questionnaire collected as part of the European Social ...

A Learning Model with Memory in the Financial Markets

open access: yesInternational Journal of Finance &Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Learning is central to a financial agent's aspiration to gain persistent strategic advantage in asset value maximisation. The implicit mechanism that transforms this aspiration into an observed value gain is the speed of error corrections (demonstrating, an agent's speed of learning) whilst facing increased uncertainty.
