Defect‐Cascades‐Induced Photodegradation in InP/ZnSe/ZnS Quantum Dots

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Surface sulfur vacancies in InP/ZnSe/ZnS quantum dots trigger vacancy cascades under blue light, propagating toward the ZnSe interface. In situ ESR (g = 2.004, 2.012) and DFT reveal a defect‐driven shift from type‐I to type‐II band alignment, reducing radiative recombination and EQE.

Switchable Reactivities of Metalated Phosphasilenes Regulated by Reversible 1,2‐Metal Migration

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We develop novel strategies for the facile synthesis of anionic phosphasilenes in the forms of both P‐metalation and Si‐metalation. The P‐metalated phosphasilene displays a pronounced π‐bond‐driven reactivity toward robust inert molecules, whereas the Si‐metalated analogue behaves as a silylene equivalent via a retro‐1,2‐silver migration.

Ultra‐Stable Topological Telluride Monolayers for Next‐Generation Battery Anodes and Sulfur Hosts

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study computationally designs 2D ternary metal tellurides (HfTiTe4, ZrTiTe4, and HfZrTe4) with unique electronic environments for battery applications. These materials offer low ion diffusion barriers, ultrahigh theoretical capacities, and robust ion binding, making them promising anodes.

Persistent Mono‐Oxo Bonding with Protactinium(V) Revealed in Highly Acidic Chloride Solutions

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Protactinium(V) defies expectations. Its elusive mono‐oxo bond was revealed through a combination of extended X‐ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) and X‐ray absorption near‐edge structure (XANES) analyses, as well as quantum chemical calculations. This bond persists even in 12 M HCl.

Dialoguer avec les brahmanes : de l’œuvre missionnaire aux Voyages philosophes

open access: yesViatica
This article explores the dialogue with Brahmins – as a discursive form and as an engagement with Hindu beliefs –, which is a key component in the work of the Jesuit Father Roberto de Nobili, before being reinvested in an ambiguous way by travel-writers ...

Regulating Gamete Donation in the U.S.: Ethical, Legal and Social Implications

open access: yesLaws, 2015
This article explores the practice of gamete donation in the U.S. having in mind the larger question of what do we as a society owe children born as a result (donor-conceived children). Do recipient-parents have a duty to tell their donor-conceived child

Aptamer Engineering: Strategies for Discovering Functional Nucleic Acids for Next‐Generation Diagnostics and Biosensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The advent of aptamers has highlighted their potential as alternatives to antibodies, overcoming limitations of structural instability and production cost. However, conventional approaches such as SELEX remain slow and labor‐intensive. This review examines recent advances in aptamer engineering, emphasizing in vitro and AI‐driven in silico strategies ...
