Jets with a Twist: The Emergence of FR0 Jets in a 3D GRMHD Simulation of Zero-angular-momentum Black Hole Accretion

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Spinning supermassive black holes (BHs) in active galactic nuclei magnetically launch relativistic collimated outflows, or jets. Without angular momentum supply, such jets are thought to perish within 3 orders of magnitude in distance from the BH, well ...

SPATIAL GROWTH OF CURRENT-DRIVEN INSTABILITY IN RELATIVISTIC ROTATING JETS AND THE SEARCH FOR MAGNETIC RECONNECTION [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Using the three-dimensional relativistic magnetohydrodynamic code RAISHIN, we investigated the influence of the radial density profile on the spatial development of the current-driven kink instability along magnetized rotating, relativistic jets. For the

Plasma‐Assisted and Solvent‐Free Ultra‐Fast Synthesis of Gold and Gold Oxide Ultra‐Small Nanoparticles and its use as Multi‐Sensing Platforms

open access: yesSmall, Volume 21, Issue 49, December 10, 2025.
The synthesis of Au and Au2O3 stable nanoparticles through non‐thermal and low‐pressure plasma approach is explored. Furthermore, their performance as multi‐sensing platforms for NADH and H2O2 under real biological conditions is tested. Abstract In this work, a plasma‐assisted and solvent‐free synthesis of gold (Au) and gold oxide (Au2O3) nanoparticles

A Small Pathbreaking Spacecraft: Giants of Space Research (Bernard Blake, Dieter Hovestadt, and Edward Stone)

open access: yesPerspectives of Earth and Space Scientists, Volume 6, Issue 1, December 2025.
Abstract The Solar, Anomalous, and Magnetospheric Explorer (SAMPEX) mission launched in July 1992 was the first NASA “Small Explorer” project. It had the goal to show how space missions could be developed much more rapidly than had become the situation in the 1980s and 1990s.

Blazar nuclei in radio-loud narrow-line Seyfert 1?

open access: yes, 2009
It has been suggested that some radio-loud narrow-line Seyfert 1 contain relativistic jets, on the basis of their flat-spectrum radio nuclei and studies on variability.

Jets from black hole binaries and Galactic Nuclei

open access: yes, 2000
Relativistic outflows are a common phenomenon in accreting black holes. Despite the enormous differences in scale, stellar-mass black holes in binaries and supermassive black holes in Galactic Nuclei produce jets with analogous properties.
