Similarity of the relaxation modulus of polydisperse polymers
Makromolekulare Chemie. Macromolecular Symposia, 1993AbstractA similarity rule due to Markovitz is used for the correlation of the relaxation modulus for different polymeric materials. This rule has long been employed implicitly in the empirical shifting rules for the reduction to common curves of viscoelastic data measured on the same polymer over a range of temperatures and concentrations.

Relaxation Modulus for Corn Endosperm in Bending
Transactions of the ASAE, 1978ABSTRACT THE stress relaxation modulus of a viscoelastic body may be predicted by a generalized Maxwell model which, if the substance is linearly viscoelastic, may include the effects of moisture content and tem-perature. In this study, samples cut from corn horny endosperm were subjected to loading as simple beams and stress relaxation characteristics

Relaxation Modulus and Complex Modulus
2017The main purpose of this chapter is to relate the relaxation modulus of bitumen through its stiffness modulus with the penetration index and the softening point of asphalt. In this chapter, the equations are derived for numerical and analytical evaluation of relaxation modulus and complex modulus of asphalt based on its stiffness modulus.

Analysis of the Relaxation Modulus of Spun Yarns
Textile Research Journal, 2009In this paper, the relaxation modulus of a single spun yarn is modeled in terms of the relaxation modulus of the constituent fibers of the yarn. A generalized Maxwell model is employed to describe the viscoelastic characteristic function of individual fibers subject to a given step function of tensile strain.

Evaluation of the stress-relaxation modulus for materials with rapid relaxation rates
Journal of Applied Physics, 1980The stress-relaxation modulus E(t) is defined in terms of an experiment involving an instantaneously applied strain; such experiments are, in practice, impossible. We have critically investigated several methods which have been suggested in the literature to extract E(t) from experimental stress values used to bring about a constant-strain rate ...

Relaxation of young modulus by thermal treatment in metglas ribbons
Il Nuovo Cimento D, 1985The Young modulus dependence on thermal treatment and magnetization state was analysed on various metallic glasses. Propagation of standing magnetoelastic waves was used as an investigation technique. A simple model was elaborated to predict the magnetoelastic coupling.

Measuring the Young’s Relaxation Modulus of PDMS Using Stress Relaxation Nanoindentation
MRS Proceedings, 2009AbstractThe Young’s relaxation modulus of Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) film specimens was measured by the nanoindenter with a flat punch indenter. In the stress relaxation test, the initial ramp part was carefully considered to develop an accurate viscoelastic contact model. This model was used to fit the load-time data from the experimental tests.

Measurement of Young’s relaxation modulus using nanoindentation
Mechanics of Time-Dependent Materials, 2006In a previous paper (Lu et al., Mechanics of Time-Dependent Materials, 7, 2003, 189–207), we described methods to measure the creep compliance of polymers using Berkovich and spherical indenters by nanoindentation. However, the relaxation modulus is often needed in stress and deformation analysis. It has been well known that the interconversion between

Creep and stress-relaxation in ultra-high modulus linear polyethylene
Journal of Materials Science, 1984It has been shown that the creep and stress-relaxation behaviour of oriented linear polyethylene can be satisfactorily described by a model where two thermally activated processes are acting in parallel. The creep behaviour of an oriented sample which does not reach a constant strain-rate can be described by the addition of a further plastic flow term ...

Relaxation Modulus Model of Aged Asphalt Mixture
Journal of Highway and Transportation Research and Development (English Edition), 2015AbstractThe asphalt mixture, AC - 13 C, is aged in an oven for five different periods, and then, stress relaxation tests are conducted at −5°C on the aged samples to study the effect of aging on the relaxation of the asphalt mixtures and to build the relaxation modulus of the asphalt mixture coupled with the aging factor.
