Viscoelastic Relaxation Modulus Characterization Using Prony Series
The mechanical behavior of viscoelastic materials is influenced, among other factors, by parameters like time and temperature. The present paper proposes a methodology for a thermorheologically and piezorheologically simple characterization of ...

Plant fibres (PFs) are preferred reinforcements of bio-composites. Knowledge of their lifespan requires a study of their viscoelastic behaviour. In this paper, a stress relaxation analysis of kenaf fibres was performed at a constant rate of deformation at room temperature. A method for extracting the relaxation modulus in the deferred zone was proposed.

A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Dynamic relaxations in a bio‐based polyamide with enhanced mechanical modulus [PDF]
ABSTRACTA new grade of bio‐based polyamide (PA)—PA meta‐xylylene diamine 10 (PA mXD 10)—was investigated. Its first interest is that it permits mild processing conditions at about 200 °C. The calorimetric study shows the existence of two cold crystallizations indicative of slow crystallization rate. The glass transition stabilizes at 55 °C.
