Influence of Geometric Design on Mechanical Performance of Auxetic Metastructure

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Strategic geometric reinforcement transforms auxetic performance. This study evaluates 3D‐printed arrowhead metastructures, revealing that a modified design with local ring reinforcement suppresses premature failure to achieve superior energy absorption and structural efficiency.

Constant modulus shaped beam synthesis via linear fractional semidefinite relaxation

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation, 2022
Excitation amplitude control is a critical issue regarding the shaped beam synthesis of array antennas. Ideally, excitations can have the same amplitude, and the desired beam can be achieved only by changing the phases.

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

Viscoelastic Properties of Asphalt Mixtures with Different Modifiers at Different Temperatures Based on Static Creep Tests

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
To obtain the viscoelastic parameters of asphalt mixtures and analyze the effect of temperatures and modifiers on viscoelastic properties of asphalt mixtures, the creep compliances of the neat asphalt mixture (AM), compound diatomite and basalt fibers ...

Energy balance for fractional anti-Zener and Zener models in terms of relaxation modulus and creep compliance

open access: yes, 2023
Relaxation modulus and creep compliance corresponding to fractional anti-Zener and Zener models are calculated and restrictions on model parameters narrowing thermodynamical constraints are posed in order to ensure relaxation modulus and creep compliance

Microstructure, Thermal Transport, and Dry‐Sliding Tribology of Powder‐Metallurgy Al7075 Composites Reinforced With Sol–Gel‐Derived ZnO–rGO Hybrid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

Example of a relaxation modulus curve for a given step strain experiment.

open access: yes, 2014
The peak relaxation modulus recorded after the step, referred to as the zero-time relaxation modulus, , was used to compare the extent of cell adhesion between samples. The relaxation modulus relaxes to a new long-time value, .

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries

A 3-dimensional singular kernel problem in viscoelasticity: An existence result

open access: yesAtti della Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti : Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali, 2019
Materials with memory, namely those materials whose mechanical and/or thermodynamical behavior depends on time not only via the present time, but also through its past history, are considered.
