Relaxation oscillations in R3

open access: yesJournal of Differential Equations, 2004
AbstractThe existence of periodic relaxation oscillations in singularly perturbed systems with two slow and one fast variable is analyzed geometrically. It is shown that near a singular periodic orbit a return map can be defined which has a one-dimensional slow manifold with a stable invariant foliation.

Role of Histidine‐Containing Peptoids in Accelerating the Kinetics of Calcite Growth

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Amphiphilic histidine‐containing peptoids mimic carbonic anhydrase (CA) to accelerate calcite step growth. In the presence of Zn2+, they promote the deprotonation of HCO3−, the desolvation of Ca2+, and the reorganization of interfacial hydration layers, thereby reducing the activation barrier for calcite growth.

Stabilizing Rabi oscillation of a charge qubit via the atomic clock technique

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2018
We propose a superconducting circuit-atom hybrid, where the Rabi oscillation of single excess Cooper pair in the island is stabilized via the common atomic clock technique.

Mott transition in Cr-doped V2O3 studied by ultrafast reflectivity: electron correlation effects on the transient response

open access: yes, 2010
The ultrafast response of the prototype Mott-Hubbard system (V1-xCrx)2O3 was systematically studied with fs pump-probe reflectivity, allowing us to clearly identify the effects of the metal-insulator transition on the transient response.

All‐Aqueous Pullulan Fibers Enabling Visible‐to‐Near‐Infrared Waveguiding with Mechanical and Thermal Resilience

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Pullulan, a biomass‐derived polysaccharide, is transformed into transparent optical fibers using a solvent‐free borax hydrogel‐spinning method. The fibers outperform PMMA with ≈200 MPa tensile strength and 200 °C stability, while uniquely guiding visible‐to‐NIR light and enabling additive‐free humidity sensing.

Coherent Control of Nitrogen Nuclear Spins via the VB−${\rm V}_B^-$‐Center in Hexagonal Boron Nitride

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates coherent control of 15N nuclear spins coupled to VB−${\text{V}}_{\text{B}}^{-}$ centers in isotope‐enriched hexagonal boron nitride. Selective addressing via spin‐state mixing enables Rabi driving, quantum gates, and coherence times exceeding 10 μs$\umu{\rm s}$.

The El Niño Southern Oscillation Recharge Oscillator with the Stochastic Forcing of Long-Term Memory

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
The influence of the fast-varying variables that have a long-term memory on the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) is investigated by adding a fractional Ornstein–Uhlenbeck (FOU) process stochastic noise on the simple recharge oscillator (RO) model. The

Heteroatom‐Engineering Promoted Co9S8 Bi‐functional Electrocatalyst for Hydrazine‐Assisted Hydrogen Production at Industrial Current Density

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fe and P co‐doped Co9S8 nanocorals (Fe, P‐Co9S8) are successfully synthesized by a heteroatom engineering strategy, which exhibit outstanding bifunctional electrocatalytic performance for both the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and hydrazine oxidation reaction (HzOR).

Counterion Dependent Side‐Chain Relaxation Stiffens a Chemically Doped Thienothiophene Copolymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxidation of a thienothiophene copolymer, p(g3TT‐T2), via different doping strategies and dopant molecules resulted in materials with similar oxidation levels and a high electrical conductivity of ≈100 S cm−1. However, mechanical properties varied significantly, with sub‐glass transition temperatures and elastic moduli spanning from –44°C to –3°C and ...

Deterministic hBN Bubbles as a Versatile Platform for Studies on Single‐Photon Emitters

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Single‐photon emitters (SPEs) in hBN are promising for quantum technologies; however, in exfoliated samples their activation is required, limiting reproducibility of previous studies. This work introduces a large‐area MOVPE‐grown hBN platform that hosts SPEs without prior activation.
