Phase Equations for Relaxation Oscillators [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 2000
Summary: We use the Malkin theorem [see \textit{I. G. Malkin}, Some problems in nonliner oscillations theory. (Russian) (1956; Zbl 0070.08703)] to derive phase equations for networks of weakly connected relaxation oscillators. We find an explicit formula for the connection functions when the oscillators have one-dimensional slow variables.

Synchrotron Radiation for Quantum Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Materials and interfaces underpin quantum technologies, with synchrotron and FEL methods key to understanding and optimizing them. Advances span superconducting and semiconducting qubits, 2D materials, and topological systems, where strain, defects, and interfaces govern performance.

Long-time discrete particle effects versus kinetic theory in the self-consistent single-wave model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The influence of the finite number N of particles coupled to a monochromatic wave in a collisionless plasma is investigated. For growth as well as damping of the wave, discrete particle numerical simulations show an N-dependent long time behavior ...

Prospects of Electric Field Control in Perpendicular Magnetic Tunnel Junctions and Emerging 2D Spintronics for Ultralow Energy Memory and Logic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electric control of magnetic tunnel junctions offers a path to drastically reduce the energy requirements of the device. Electric field control of magnetization can be realized in a multitude of ways. These mechanisms can be integrated into existing spintronic devices to further reduce the operational energy.

STABILIZED RELAXATION OSCILLATOR [PDF]

open access: yes, 1962
An unsynchronized thyratron relaxation oscillator circuit was developed, whose rate is stabilized through the use of a Schmitt discriminator to determine the thyratron firing point. Drift and jitter in the period are less than 0.1% after warmup. (auth)

Tuning the Dielectric Properties of Individual Clay Nanosheets by Interlayer Composition: Toward Nano‐Electret Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The dielectric properties of clays are studied on the level of individual monolayers and functional double stacks. The material breakdown characteristics and charge storage performance are analyzed. For illustration, a defined charge pattern representing a cuneiform character is produced, written into a microscopic clay tile, referencing the origins of

The Dynamics of the Logistic Equation with Delay and Delayed Control

open access: yesМоделирование и анализ информационных систем, 2014
Dynamical properties of a logistic equation with delay and delay control are studied by asymptotic methods. It is shown that effective control of characteristics of relaxation cycle is possible.

Spin dynamics of Mn12-acetate in the thermally-activated tunneling regime: ac-susceptibility and magnetization relaxation

open access: yes, 2000
In this work, we study the spin dynamics of Mn12-acetate molecules in the regime of thermally assisted tunneling. In particular, we describe the system in the presence of a strong transverse magnetic field.
