Dielectric Relaxation Time and Relaxation Time Distribution of Alcohol−Water Mixtures

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2001
Complex permittivity was measured in the frequency range from 10 MHz to 20 GHz at 25 °C for water mixtures of 22 aliphatic alcohols. The molecular structures of these alcohols systematically changed with the number of carbon atoms and hydroxyl groups, and their positions in the molecules.

Relaxation times and NMR signals

Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 1984
The strength of signals in magnetic resonance imaging (and the resulting image contrast) depends not just on the number density of the nuclei being detected, but also on the relaxation times, T1 and T2. The relationship of signal strength to relaxation time depends on the particular choice of pulse sequences used to produce the signals.

Relaxation times and viscosity

Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1974
Abstract On the basis of parallel Maxwell models having partial shear moduli G i and relaxation times τ i , mechanical relaxation processes including viscous flow can be easily described. Viscosity, e.g., equals the sum of the products of the above quantities, i.e. η = Σ G i τ i .
