NMR Relaxometry Across Time: From Early Insights to Emerging Directions

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Chemistry, Volume 63, Issue 9, Page 681-690, September 2025.
NMR relaxometry bridges time and frequency domains to probe molecular dynamics across materials, biomedical, and environmental systems. This perspective highlights advances in time‐domain and fast field‐cycling methods, their synergy, and emerging applications enabled by miniaturized instrumentation, multimodal integration, and AI‐enhanced analysis ...

Rapid Microwave-Assisted Synthesis of Dextran-Coated Iron Oxide Nanoparticles for Magnetic Resonance Imaging

open access: yes, 2012
Currently, magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles are the only nano-sized magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agents approved for clinical use, yet commercial manufacturing of these agents has been limited or discontinued.

"Digital petrophysics" in studies of porosity properties of low- permeable reservoirs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The article focuses on study in the properties of low-permeable reservoirs. The object of the research is the Bazhenov formation rocks taken from a well drilled in an oilfield of the West Siberian basin.

Design of CTAB‐Coated NixFe3−xO4 Magnetic Nanoparticles as Magnetic Particle Imaging (MPI) Tracers

open access: yesParticle &Particle Systems Characterization, Volume 42, Issue 9, September 2025.
The present work is conducted to study synthesized NixFe3−xO4 MNPs (with x = from 0 to 1.0) coated with CTAB with hydrothermal and coprecipitation methods for the medical imaging systems as a tracer agent. In vitro, the biocompatibility of samples has been approved using an MTT assay.

A medical device-grade T1 and ECV phantom for global T1 mapping quality assurance - the T$_1$ Mapping and ECV Standardization in cardiovascular magnetic resonance (T1MES) program [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
$\textbf{Background:}$ T$_1$ mapping and extracellular volume (ECV) have the potential to guide patient care and serve as surrogate end-points in clinical trials, but measurements differ between cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) scanners and pulse ...

Exploring Bioinspired Ln3+ Complexes for Cu2+ Detection: Design and Efficacy as MRI Contrast Agents

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 28, Issue 13, May 21, 2025.
Gd3+ complexes bearing a bioinspired Cu2+‐binding site derived from ATCUN are studied as MRI contrast agents. The presence of two amino acids (GH) is necessary to bind Cu2+ and trigger a relaxivity increase. This is due to a higher number of H2O retained close to Gd3+ through H‐bonding with Cu2+. Remarkably, the system remains selective for Cu2+ vs Zn2+

Zinc Sensing with a Pyridine‐Based Lanthanide Contrast Agent: Structural Analysis in Aqueous Solution

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 14, March 6, 2025.
An original paramagnetic probe was developed, whose Magnetic Resonance Imaging efficacy is modified upon Zn2+ complexation. A combination of NMR, DFT and luminescence studies shows that these changes are due to a modification of the Gd3+ coordination sphere. The complex exhibits high selectivity for Zn2+ over other physiological cations.

Power absorption measurements during NMR experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The heating produced by the absorption of radiofrequency (RF) has been considered a secondary undesirable effect during MRI procedures. In this work, we have measured the power absorbed by distilled water, glycerol and egg-albumin during NMR and non-NMR ...

Wood‐Biochar Influence on Rill Erosion Processes and Hydrological Connectivity in Amended Soils

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 39, Issue 2, February 2025.
Plot measurements were performed on two rills, named rill3 and rill5, incised in a soil amended with an initial biochar concentration BC by weight of 3% and 5%, respectively. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) relaxometry with the fast field cycling (FFC) layout was used to measure the structural and functional connectivity of the soil, biochar, and ...
