Characterization of Potato Tuber Tissues Using Spatialized MRI T2 Relaxometry

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2023
Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a powerful non-destructive tool in the study of plant tissues. For potato tubers, it greatly assists the study of tissue defects and tissue evolution during storage.

Controlling the Guanidinium Cation Rotation by Cation–π Interactions

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
A lanthanide π‐container has been employed to trap a guanidinium cation inside the aromatic cavity by cation–π interactions. X‐ray crystallography and solid‐state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy at fast magic‐angle spinning (MAS) frequencies have been utilized to probe the underlying host–guest interactions.

Proton relaxometry of tree leaves at hypogeomagnetic fields

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
We report on a cross-species proton-relaxometry study in ex vivo tree leaves using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) at 7µT. Apart from the intrinsic interest of probing nuclear-spin relaxation in biological tissues at magnetic fields below Earth field ...

Clinical use and radiological yield of magnetic resonance fingerprinting in epilepsy

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Magnetic resonance fingerprinting (MRF) is a novel paradigm for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) that efficiently generates multiparametric quantitative tissue property maps with a single acquisition. Its quantitative nature offers many advantages over conventional MRI.

* relaxometry

open access: yes, 2005
T-2* relaxometry for quantitative MR imaging is strongly hampered by large-scale field inhomogeneities, which lead to signal losses and an overestimation of the relaxation rate R-2*.

The Combined Quantification and Interpretation of Multiple Quantitative Magnetic Resonance Imaging Metrics Enlightens Longitudinal Changes Compatible with Brain Repair in Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis Patients

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2017
ObjectiveQuantitative and semi-quantitative MRI (qMRI) metrics provide complementary specificity and differential sensitivity to pathological brain changes compatible with brain inflammation, degeneration, and repair.

Lumbar intervertebral discs T2 relaxometry and T1ρ relaxometry correlation with age in asymptomatic young adults [PDF]

open access: yesQuantitative Imaging in Medicine and Surgery, 2016
To investigate the detection of intervertebral disc (IVD) composition aging-related changes using T2 and T1ρ relaxometry in vivo in asymptomatic young adults. We recruited ninety asymptomatic and young adults (42 men and 48 women) between 20 and 40 years old.

Mapping Neurodegenerative Changes in Clinically Uncertain Parkinsonian Syndrome Patients Using Fast MR Spin TomogrAphy in Time‐Domain (MR‐STAT) Relaxometry at 3T

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background MR Spin TomogrAphy in Time‐domain (MR‐STAT) enables accelerated multiparametric relaxometry (T1/T2). Previous relaxometry studies predominantly compared Parkinson's disease patients with healthy controls (HC). The potential of relaxometry to distinguish neurodegenerative from non‐neurodegenerative parkinsonism in clinically ...

Environmental applications of fast field-cycling NMR relaxometry

open access: yes, 2018
Environmental sustainability is the modern scientific-field key word. This is because a novel awareness about environmental safety occurred since the “Rio Declaration on Environment and Development” was produced in 1992.
