Polarization reversal via a transient relaxor state in nonergodic relaxors near freezing temperature

open access: yesJournal of Materiomics, 2019
Among the unresolved issues in the study of relaxor ferroelectrics is the role of freezing temperature, across which the dynamics of polarization reversal in relaxor ferroelectrics changes.

Evidence for existence of Functional Monoclinic Phase in Sodium Niobate based Solid Solution by Powder Neutron Diffraction

open access: yes, 2018
We have carried out systematic temperature-dependent neutron diffraction measurements in conjunction with dielectric spectroscopy from 6 to 300 K for sodium niobate based compounds (1-x) NaNbO3 -xBaTiO3 (NNBTx).

Electrocaloric effect in relaxor ferroelectrics [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Physics, 2011
A theoretical model for the electrocaloric effect (ECE) in relaxor ferroelectrics is presented. By solving a self-consistent relation for the ECE temperature change ΔT and minimizing numerically the mean field free energy for relaxors, the field and temperature dependence of ΔT is calculated.

Large Electrocaloric Effect in Stretched Relaxor Ferroelectric Polymers near Morphotropic Phase Boundary

open access: yesChemistry
Use of the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) is a promising approach to enhance the electrocaloric effect in ferroelectric polymers. This is usually achieved by a composition method, and polymer processing near the MPB to tune electrocaloric response has

Polarization behavior in a compositionally graded relaxor–ferroelectric crystal visualized by angle-resolved polarized Raman mapping

open access: yesCommunications Physics, 2023
Explaining the properties and functions of materials in terms of their atomic arrangements and inhomogeneous structures is a fundamental challenge for the development of ferroelectric oxides.

Polar and non-polar atomic motions in the relaxor ferroelectric PLZT from dielectric, anelastic and NMR relaxation

open access: yes, 2004
Dielectric, anelastic and ^139La NMR relaxation measurements have been made on the relaxor ferroelectric Pb(1-3x/2)La(x)Zr(0.2)Ti(0.8)O(3) (PLZT) with x = 0.22.

Orbital-Order Driven Ferroelectricity and Dipolar Relaxation Dynamics in Multiferroic GaMo$_4$S$_8$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We present the results of broadband dielectric spectroscopy of GaMo$_4$S$_8$, a lacunar spinel system that recently was shown to exhibit non-canonical, orbitally-driven ferroelectricity.
