Relay Selection Algorithm for Cognitive Relay Network

Wireless Personal Communications, 2017
In the cognitive relay network, due to the different fading characteristics of communication links, not all relay nodes have constructive impacts on the system performance. A relay selection algorithm is proposed to obtain the minimum relay transmission power while satisfying the secondary user SINR requirements and interference temperature constraints.

Partial Stream Relaying in MIMO Relay Communications

IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2013
For a decode-and-forward (DF)-based multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) relaying system, we propose a novel partial-information relaying scheme that adaptively controls the number of streams to be forwarded to the destination. In the first transmission phase, a source node broadcasts data streams that consist of nonforwarding and forwarding streams ...

Optimal Relay Location for Fading Relay Channels

2010 IEEE 72nd Vehicular Technology Conference - Fall, 2010
In this paper we study the problem of relayenhanced cell (REC) coverage for which relay location is optimized to maximize the achievable REC radius. The problem is investigated for both Rayleigh and Rician relay fading channels, under a pre-determined user's outage probability constraint.

Mobile relay deployment in multihop relay networks

Computer Communications, 2017
Abstract In multihop relay networks such as LTE-Advanced and the mobile WiMAX network, subscribers move in and out of the Fixed Relays’ (FRs) coverage in different periods. Frequent handover requests generated by population mobility lead to low data rate and load imbalances among FRs.

A New Technique of Differential Relaying: The ??-Differential Relay

IEEE Power Engineering Review, 1982
Standard percentage differential relaying with through current restraint is insensitive to high impedance (i.e. low fault current) faults when applied to apparatus which experience substantial, near 1.0 pu, prefault through currents. A new technique of differential protection is proposed which considers only fault contribution currents through the use ...

Counting with relays

Electrical Engineering, 1949
ELECTROMECHANICAL relay circuits, which recognize the appearance and disappearance of electric pulses representing events to be counted and which establish unique conditions during and after each successive pulse, or after a particular number of pulses, are termed relay counting circuits.

Bidirectional Cellular Relay Network with Distributed Relaying

IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2013
In this paper, we consider a bidirectional cellular relay network with distributed relays where a single base station exchanges information with multiple independent users through multiple single-antenna relays. We design the transceivers at the base station, the relays, and the users.

Cooperative Relay Transmission with Relay's Private Information

2011 IEEE 73rd Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2011
In this paper, we consider a two-phase cooperative relay transmission setup with relay's private information (CRT-RPI). A half-duplex decode-and-forward (DF) relay not only helps the source-to-destination transmission, but also transmits its own private information mR to the destination.

Relay selection in multiple clustered relay networks

2015 Wireless Telecommunications Symposium (WTS), 2015
We consider the downlink of a realistic cellular network composed of multiple clusters, each of which includes multiple relays and a destination terminal. In this scenario, the interference among the clusters is a critical issue, affecting the end-to-end performance of the system significantly.

Symmetric Relaying Strategy for Two-Relay Networks

IEEE Communications Letters, 2008
In this paper, we propose a concept of relaying named symmetric relaying strategy for two relay network. In our strategy, we have two relays in the network and both relays can completely decode the message transmitted by the other relay. The proposed rate is shown to subsume the previously proposed rate for feed-forward relay network based on decode ...
