Instantaneous Overcurrent Relays for Distance Relaying
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1935Instantaneous isolation of faults on transmission and distribution lines is ever a problem of the relay engineer. The use of instantaneous overcurrent relays as applied to the system of the Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company is discussed in this paper. Relays of this type were applied in conjunction with already installed overcurrent time delay relays ...

Data races occur when multiple threads are about to access the same piece of memory, and at least one of those accesses is a write. Such races can lead to hard-to-reproduce bugs that are time consuming to debug and fix. We present RELAY, a static and scalable race detection analysis in which unsoundness is modularized to a few sources.

In this paper, we consider a dual-hop regenerative relay system consisting of one source node, one destination node and multiple relay nodes. All nodes are equipped with a single antenna except the destination node. We discuss two different relay selection strategies: 1) selection of the best relay; and 2) selection of all reliable relays.

In my presentation I will propose a new link-layer model for distributed computing based on so-called relays that promises to be useful for the design of robust and secure distributed systems based on overlay networks and, in particular, for fog computing.

Although electromagnetic protective relays are adequate for present requirements, the ever-increasing demand for higher speeds and greater accuracy and dependability seems likely to exceed the capabilities of relays now available. However, the trend toward electronic control circuits in other branches of electrical engineering, coupled with the recent ...

NEW ADVANCES in electronics, accelerated by the recent war, offer many applications in addition to their use for military, aviation, or communication purposes. Heretofore, the use of electronic circuits in relaying schemes has been mainly to supplement the more conventional electromagnetic schemes.
