A cheap relaying protocol for orthogonal relay channels

2008 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2008
The proposed relaying scheme, which is an optimized scalar quantize-and-forward (QF) protocol, has at least three attractive features: 1. it is simple; 2. it exploits the signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) of the source-relay and relay-destination channels; 3.

Diversity and Multiplexing of Opportunistic Shared Relay Channel and the X-Relay Channel

GLOBECOM 2009 - 2009 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2009
In this paper we study opportunistic communication in two relay channels, the shared relay channel (SRC) and the X-relay channel (XRC). The shared relay channel consists of multiple non-interfering source-destination pairs sharing one relay. The X relay channel is a multi-source multidestination network where each source has a message for each ...

Relay selection with channel allocation for cognitive radio relay channels in CRN

2014 Eleventh International Conference on Wireless and Optical Communications Networks (WOCN), 2014
This paper investigates cognitive radio network (CRN) performance through cooperative multiple cognitive radio relays and relay selection with channel allocation scheme. In one approach the overall end-to-end throughput (OEET) improves as the number of cognitive radio relays (CRRs) increases in CRN.

Relaying selection based multiple access relay channel

2016 24th Signal Processing and Communication Application Conference (SIU), 2016
Relay selection in case of fast cascade Rayleigh fading channels has been examined in multiple access relay channel structure which is one of the high spectral efficiency network coding applications. Error performance analysis of MARC system has been made for noncoherent binary frequency shift keying (BFSK) and it has been shown that the proposed ...

Resource Allocation for the Parallel Relay Channel with Multiple Relays

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2011
A cooperative network where the transmission between two nodes is assisted by many half-duplex relays over parallel Gaussian channels is considered. The parallel channel model is suitable for a broadband system, such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing or a block fading channel. For the decode-and-forward protocol, an optimization problem for

Error exponents for the relay channel

2013 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2013
Achievable error exponents for the relay channel are derived using the method of types. In particular, two block-Markov coding schemes are analyzed: partial decode-forward and compress-forward. The derivations require combinations of the techniques in the proofs of the packing lemma for the error exponent of channel coding and the covering lemma for ...

Gaussian interfering relay channels

2013 Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2013
We extend the primitive relay channel (PRC) introduced by Cover and Kim to a more general scenario where two Gaussian PRC's cause interference to each other. We show that extended hash-and-forward relaying with proper power allocation can achieve bounded gaps to the capacity region of the Gaussian channel in different regimes of channel parameters.

On the capacity of MIMO relay channels

IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2005
Summary: We study the capacity of multiple-input multiple- output (MIMO) relay channels. We first consider the Gaussian MIMO relay channel with fixed channel conditions, and derive upper bounds and lower bounds that can be obtained numerically by convex programming. We present algorithms to compute the bounds.

Partial cognitive relay channel

2009 IEEE Information Theory Workshop on Networking and Information Theory, 2009
We define partial cognitive relay channel as a two-transmitter, two-receiver interference channel with a relay node such that one of the transmitters is a cognitive transmitter. As a more feasible assumption we assume that the cognitive transmitter has non-causally access to a part of the other transmitter's encoded message.

The Relay Channel with a Wire-tapper

2007 41st Annual Conference on Information Sciences and Systems, 2007
In this work a relay channel with a wire-tapper is studied for both discrete memoryless and Gaussian channels. The wire-tapper receives a physically degraded version of the destination's signal. We find inner and outer bounds for the capacity-equivocation rate region. We also argue that when the destination receives a physically degraded version of the
