Rateless coding for wireless relay channels

Proceedings. International Symposium on Information Theory, 2005. ISIT 2005., 2005
We propose a novel coding framework for wireless relay channels based on rateless codes, which allows for a natural extension to multiple antenna and multiple relay settings. The relaying protocol is half-duplex, and relays independently choose when to collaborate, if at all.

Relaying functions for the multiple access relay channel

2010 6th International Symposium on Turbo Codes & Iterative Information Processing, 2010
In this paper, we investigate the benefit of joint network-channel (JNC) distributed coding for the multiple-access half-duplex relay channel. In contrast with previous work, the orthogonality of the medium access is partially relaxed and the source-to-relay links are not error-free. More specifically, the sources are allowed to transmit simultaneously

Relay selection with channel allocation for cognitive radio relay channels in CRN

2014 Eleventh International Conference on Wireless and Optical Communications Networks (WOCN), 2014
This paper investigates cognitive radio network (CRN) performance through cooperative multiple cognitive radio relays and relay selection with channel allocation scheme. In one approach the overall end-to-end throughput (OEET) improves as the number of cognitive radio relays (CRRs) increases in CRN.

Gaussian two-hop relay channel with linear relaying

2011 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP), 2011
In this paper, the optimization problem of the two-hop relay channel with linear relaying is discussed. The expression of the capacity for the Gaussian two-hop relay channel with linear relaying is shown, which is an optimization problem over the relaying function and the covariance matrix of the signals transmitted by the source node. We show that the

Parallel relay broadcast channels

2010 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2010
In this paper, we study the achievable rate regions of parallel relay broadcast channels. We present two system models, the parallel unshared-relay broadcast channel and the parallel shared-relay broadcast channel. In the first system, each relay node is peculiar to one of the users and does not assist any other user.

A cheap relaying protocol for orthogonal relay channels

2008 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2008
The proposed relaying scheme, which is an optimized scalar quantize-and-forward (QF) protocol, has at least three attractive features: 1. it is simple; 2. it exploits the signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) of the source-relay and relay-destination channels; 3.

Broadcast-relay-broadcast channels

2010 Conference Record of the Forty Fourth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2010
In this paper, we study the achievable rate regions of broadcast-relay-broadcast channels. The source broadcasts information to the users. A number of parallel relays are used to assist users. Each relay receives information from the source and forwards information to users. The relays also broadcast the forwarded information to all users.

Greedy Successive Relaying for the Multicarrier Diamond Relay Channel

2021 National Conference on Communications (NCC), 2021
We propose a new decode-and-forward (DF) protocol called Greedy Successive Relaying (GSR) protocol for the M-relay multicarrier diamond relay channel. We consider the diamond channel with half-duplex relays. The GSR protocol uses two states and the relays are partitioned into two sets, A and B.

Resource Allocation for the Parallel Relay Channel with Multiple Relays

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2011
A cooperative network where the transmission between two nodes is assisted by many half-duplex relays over parallel Gaussian channels is considered. The parallel channel model is suitable for a broadband system, such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing or a block fading channel. For the decode-and-forward protocol, an optimization problem for

Source Transmission over Relay Channel with Correlated Relay Side Information

2007 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2007
We consider transmission of a Gaussian source over a Gaussian relay channel, where the relay terminal has access to correlated side information. We propose several cooperative joint source-channel coding strategies that utilize both the broadcast nature of the wireless transmission and/or the availability of the correlated side information at the relay,
