Relay coordination in microgrid
2017 International Conference on Computing Methodologies and Communication (ICCMC), 2017Microgrids has many environmental and economic benefits but their implementation has great technical challenges in protection, energy management and control. MG consist of a number of distributed generators (DGs). Distribution system protection is the most important technical aspects in the microgrid.

IEEE Computer Applications in Power, 1994
The process of setting relays and checking the coordination between primary and backup relays has always been a time consuming process. Automation of various steps of relay setting and checking is easing the tedium of this process for engineers at Consumers Power company.

Optimal coordination of directional overcurrent relay coordination
IEEE Power Engineering Society General Meeting, 2005, 2005Directional overcurrent relays are used to protect interconnected power systems and looped distribution systems. Several techniques and formulations have been proposed to solve the directional overcurrent relay problem. In this paper, the proposed formulations for relay coordination problem are discussed.

Improved relay coordination and relay response time by integrating the relay functions
2000 Power Engineering Society Summer Meeting (Cat. No.00CH37134), 2002This paper describes a practical method for improving relay coordination for high current faults by reducing the relay operating times by integrating the relay functions. This results in reduced fault duration at high currents, which minimizes equipment damage.

Review: Methods for relay coordination
2017 International Conference on Computing Methodologies and Communication (ICCMC), 2017Reliability of the power system degrades with abnormal operating condition of the protective system caused due to overvoltage, under-frequency, overload etc. which may leads to interruption of the supply, and may damage equipment's connected to the system.

Relay coordination for distribution system
2016 Second International Conference on Science Technology Engineering and Management (ICONSTEM), 2016In power system protection relay and circuit breakers is the major instrument for large interconnected power system. We need proper protection to isolate the faulted region from healthier network. When two protective apparatus installed in series have certain characteristics, which provide a specified operating sequence, they are said to be coordinated

Optimal coordination of protective relays
2013 International Conference on Power, Energy and Control (ICPEC), 2013Protective relays are commonly used as an economical means for protecting power systems. The selection of appropriate settings of these relays under various system conditions plays an important role in timely removal of the faulty section of power system.

User Allocation and Precoder Design for Coordinated Relaying
2011 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference - GLOBECOM 2011, 2011Relays are used in the current standards to enhance the cell throughput and coverage. Often, the relays are evaluated without considering the overhead involved in providing the relay with the data prior to the transmission. In this paper, we evaluate the system performance by considering the duplexing loss with over- the-air transmission (OTA) for ...

Relay aided coordinated beamforming and interference neutralization
2017 Information Theory and Applications Workshop (ITA), 2017We consider the Multi-Input Single Output (MISO) Interfering Broadcast Channel (IBC), in other words the multi-user (MU) multi-cell half duplex downlink in a cellular or heterogeneous network, aided by a full duplex MIMO relay. The Degrees of Freedom (DoF) are analyzed for joint coordinated beamforming by the base stations and interference ...

Centralized interference coordination in relay-enhanced networks
2012 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference Workshops (WCNCW), 2012In this work, we investigate the issue of interference coordination in relay-enhanced networks. We focus on Type 1 in-band relays as proposed for LTE-Advanced, where the base station and the relay nodes share the same frequency for the backhaul and relay access link.
