Alliances with Optimal Relay Selection

2007 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing - ICASSP '07, 2007
ALLIANCES is a recently proposed cooperative random access protocol for wireless networks. In this paper we modify the original model to include user location information. We also derive pair-wise error probability (PEP) under Rayleigh flat fading channel and a power-law attenuation environment.

UAV Altitude, Relay Selection, and User Association Optimization for Cooperative Relay-Transmission in UAV-IRS-Based THz Networks

IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are widely adopted as aerial relays assisting seamless coverage due to flexible deployment and high maneuverability, but their service time is considered as the bottleneck due to the constrained energy.

On relay selection in frequency selective channels

2011 Conference Record of the Forty Fifth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (ASILOMAR), 2011
We consider relay selection in cooperative relay networks with frequency selective fading, and focus on a system where multiple decode-and-forward relays share a single channel orthogonal to the source. We propose a relay selection scheme and end-to-end transciever architecture which employs a simple decision feedback equalizer, and we show ...

Source Selection and Resource Allocation in Wireless-Powered Relay Networks: An Adaptive Dynamic Programming-Based Approach

IEEE Internet of Things Journal
This article considers a two-hop wireless-powered relay network consisting of multiple sources, multiple destinations, and one relay. The relay can receive energy from the sources and forward data to the destinations.

Relay selection in amplify-and-forward relay networks with frequency selective fading

2012 Conference Record of the Forty Sixth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (ASILOMAR), 2012
We consider relay selection in cooperative relay networks with frequency selective fading, and focus on a system where multiple amplify-and-forward relays share a single channel orthogonal to the source. We propose a relay selection method that achieves the optimal diversity-multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) as proven by outage analysis. This relay selection

Relay selection for asynchronous AF relay networks with frequency selective channels

2016 IEEE 17th International Workshop on Signal Processing Advances in Wireless Communications (SPAWC), 2016
In this paper, relay selection schemes in asynchronous multi-relay network for frequency selective channels have been investigated. In particular, distributed Alamouti space time coding and amplify-and-forward (AF) relaying are exploited, and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is implemented with adaptive cyclic prefix (CP) to deal with ...

Opportunistic relaying in multipath and slow fading channel: Relay selection and optimal relay selection period

2011 - MILCOM 2011 Military Communications Conference, 2011
In this paper we present opportunistic relay communication strategies of decode and forward relaying. The channel that we are considering includes pathloss, shadowing, and fast fading effects. We find a simple outage probability formula for opportunistic relaying in the channel, and validate the results by comparing it with the exact outage probability.

Relaying selection based multiple access relay channel

2016 24th Signal Processing and Communication Application Conference (SIU), 2016
Relay selection in case of fast cascade Rayleigh fading channels has been examined in multiple access relay channel structure which is one of the high spectral efficiency network coding applications. Error performance analysis of MARC system has been made for noncoherent binary frequency shift keying (BFSK) and it has been shown that the proposed ...

Energy-Efficient Power Allocation and Q-Learning-Based Relay Selection for Relay-Aided D2D Communication

IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2020
Device-to-device (D2D) communication is a promising paradigm to meet the requirement of ultra-dense, low-latency and high-rate in the fifth-generation networks. However, energy consumption is a critical issue for the D2D communication, especially for D2D
