NEW DEVELOPMENTS ON THE USE OF BIVARIATE RODRIGUEZ-BURR III DISTRIBUTION IN RELIABILITY STUDIES [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we study the bivariate Rodriguez-Burr III distribution from a reliability point of view. In particular, we derive various functions used in reliability theory of conditional distributions, viz hazard rate, reversed hazard rate, mean ...

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Comparison of two nicotine dependence measures for use with Korean American Women: The FTND and AUTOS

open access: yes, 2017
This study compares psychometric properties of the Fagerström Test for Nicotine Dependence (FTND) and Autonomy over Tobacco Scale (AUTOS), which are measures of nicotine dependence.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

On moment inequalities and stochastic ordering for weighted reliability measures

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2001
We obtain stochastic inequalities, error bounds, and classification probability for a general class of distributions. We introduce the notion of variability ordering via the probability functional and comparisons made for the weighted and the original ...

Chemometrics: measurement reliability.

open access: yesClinical Chemistry, 1988
Abstract Applying the principles of chemometrics can lead to development of a powerful, simple, comprehensive system for characterizing measurement reliability of analytical processes. The system described here consists of a format for specifications, definitions, and decision rules for evaluating and comparing analytical processes.

Open Source, Agile and Reliability Measures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
As open source and agile development do work in some circumstances, particularly with regard to shorter and more frequent release policy, we wonder whether the defect profile (reliability growth) found in the open-source projects so far is typical of ...

Tumor‐stromal crosstalk and macrophage enrichment are associated with chemotherapy response in bladder cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemoresistance in bladder cancer: Macrophage recruitment associated with CXCL1, CXCL5 and CXCL8 expression is characteristic of Gemcitabine/Cisplatin (Gem/Cis) Non‐Responder tumors (right side) while Responder tumors did not show substantial tumor‐stromal crosstalk (left side). All biological icons are attributed to Bioicons: carcinoma, cancerous‐cell‐
