ANTHROPOGENIC CHANGES ON LANDFORMS IN THE UPPER AND MIDDLE SECTORS OF STREI BASIN [PDF]

Mapping the relief and other objects of the Aral Sea (as it dries out) using satellite images [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
This article discusses cartographic work on creating maps of the territory of the dry bottom of the Aral Sea using conventional signs and showing the bottom with contour lines.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Generation and optimisation of colour-shaded relief maps using neural networks

open access: yesGeocarto International
Shaded relief is a primary tool used to effectively portray three-dimensional terrain on a two-dimensional plane surface. Colour-shaded relief maps use colour variations to effectively represent elevation changes and even capture the natural hues of ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Comparison of Relief Shading Techniques Applied to Landforms

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2020
As relief influences disposition of all the other objects displayed on maps, terrain representation plays one of the key roles in the map creation process.

Mapping of forest types confined to the lay of land [PDF]

open access: yesСибирский лесной журнал, 2018
The principles for the formation of forest typological classification and outlines promising areas for development, allowing to solve problems of not only inventory and forest management, but also mapping forest types are discussed in the paper.

Metformin promotes mitochondrial integrity through AMPK‐signaling in Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Metformin mediates mitochondrial quality control in Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) fibroblasts carrying mtDNA mutations. At therapeutic levels, metformin activates AMPK signaling to restore mitochondrial dynamics by promoting fusion and restraining fission, while preserving mitochondrial mass, enhancing autophagy/mitophagy and biogenesis ...

NUMERICAL ANALYSIS FOR STABILITY OF BALANCED PISTON TYPE RELIEF VALVE

open access: yesProceedings of the JFPS International Symposium on Fluid Power, 1996
This paper deals with the stability of a relief valve of balanced piston type. Governing equations of 9th order and its linearized form, x = Ax, are derived and the cracking characteristics and the stability are numerically investigated. The theoretical cracking characteristics of the relief valve is indicated to be in good agreement with experimental ...

Domain associated with zinc fingers‐containing NF90‐NF45 complex inhibits m6A modification of primary microRNA by suppressing METTL3/14 activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
NF90–NF45 functions as a negative regulator of methyltransferase‐like 3/14 (METTL3/14)‐mediated N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) modification on primary microRNAs (pri‐miRNAs). NF90–NF45 binds to anti‐oncogenic pri‐miRNAs and inhibits their m6A modification, thereby suppressing the biogenesis of anti‐oncogenic miRNAs.
