The Reluctance Machine as a Self-Excited Reluctance Generator
Electric Machines & Power Systems, 1985ABSTRACT The test described in this paper show that the reluctance machine may be operated as an independent or isolated generator at a predetermined voltage and frequency, with sinusoidal wave form, by moans of capacitive excitation. Further, proper choice and arrangement of the capacitors will result in a practically flat external load-voltage ...

Comparative study of wound-field flux-switching machines and switched reluctance machines
International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems, 2019In this paper, comparisons between two permanent-magnet-free (PM-free) machines, namely a wound-field flux-switching machine (WFFSM) and a switched reluctance machine (SRM), covering skewed-rotor and straight-rotor structures are conducted.

Control of synchronous reluctance machines
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1993This work develops a comprehensive approach to the control of inverter-fed synchronous reluctance machines (SYNCREL), based on the machine's ideal model. From the theory a control simulation is designed. Simulation and experimental results are presented. The effects of saturation and iron losses are briefly considered. >

Design of 3D Printed High Performance Windings for Switched Reluctance Machines
International Conference on Electrical Machines, 2018This paper presents the design of high performance tooth coils for high speed switched reluctance machines (SRM) for automotive applications. The focus is on the calculation of the conductor losses taking into account eddy current effects induced by ...

The recent novel dc-biased sinusoidal current reluctance machines (dc-biased VRMs) adopt a doubly salient structure and concentrated windings, which is similar to that of switched reluctance machines (SRMs). The special point is that the phase current is

Modeling of losses in switched reluctance machines
38th IAS Annual Meeting on Conference Record of the Industry Applications Conference, 2003., 2004Switched reluctance motor (SRM) performance prediction requires the modeling of iron losses. The iron loss model in this paper separates the iron losses into two components, eddy-current and hysteresis losses, and models the losses as a function of the derivative of flux density. The model is suitable for the nonsinusoidal flux densities in the SRM and

Thermal Analysis of Synchronous Reluctance Machines – A Review
Electric Power Components and Systems, 2019Synchronous Reluctance Machines (SynRMs) are facing a revamped industrial interest. A comparison between SynRMs and other types of electric machines allow listing the advantages and proving the choice of such machines. This paper presents a review of SynRMs, regarding particularly their thermal analysis.
