Design methods of transversally laminated synchronous reluctance machines
Transversally laminated synchronous reluctance machine (SynRM) are usually designed with multiple-layer flux barriers to achieve high electromagnetic performance. This paper summarizes three design methods to optimize the machine.

The brushless doubly fed reluctance machine and the synchronous reluctance machine-a comparison
The brushless doubly fed reluctance machine (BDFRM) is related to the better known brushless doubly fed induction machine (BDFIM). Research into doubly fed machines is motivated by the fact that they allow the use of a partially rated inverter in many variable-speed applications.

Hybrid-excited variable reluctance machines [PDF]
In this paper, a study on the energy conversion and the consequent torque production mechanism in hybrid excited variable reluctance machines (HEVRMs) is presented. The derived torque expressions of single-phase HEVRMs with different switching strategies show a similarity to that of DC machines (DCMs), wound-field synchronous machines (WFSMs), or ...

Self‐Sensing Artificial‐Muscle‐Empowered Humanlike Perception, Interaction, and Positioning
The proposed self‐sensorized artificial muscle (SSAM) can sense its length change as small as 0.01 mm via a seamlessly integrated multi‐segment induction coil. The SSAM provides accurate length information regardless of its loadings, driving pressure, or muscle design, adequate for robust data‐driven feedback control.

SIX-PHASE LINEAR SWITCHED RELUCTANCE MOTOR DRIVE FOR ELEVATOR [PDF]
In this paper, a six-phase switched reluctance motor for applications such as vertical transportation in a linear elevator is considered. The driving force ripple in a linear switched reluctance is high and the use of these machines in low speeds are ...

Fast Assessment of Rotor Barrier Dimensional Allowances in Synchronous Reluctance Machines
Tolerance analysis on synchronous reluctance machines (SynRM) is mandatory if accurate refinements of the rotor structure are adopted, a must for low-ripple applications However, the impact of manufacturing/dimensional tolerances or material degradation ...

Steady-state analysis and stability of synchronous reluctance motors considering saturation effects [PDF]
This paper investigates the influence of the magnetic saturation on the performance of a Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM) at steady-state. In addition, the stability limits for the SynRM are studied using a suggested more accurate method.
