Elementary excitations in a paramagnetic semiconductor quantum well confined to a cylindrical surface are theoretically studied on the basis of coupled spin-charge drift-diffusion equations. The electric-field-mediated eigenmodes are optically excited by

Integration of magnetic amplifier switch model into computer aided design for power converters [PDF]

Abstract Paleomagnetic and rock magnetic analyses were conducted on sediment cores from the northeastern Greenland Shelf and Young Sound along the western edge of Fram Strait. The paleomagnetic signal in all three sediment cores is characterized by a strong and stable single component magnetization carried by low coercivity ferrimagnetic single domain ...

Magneto‐X Effects in Magnetic Soft Materials and Their Applications
This review systematically explores magnetic soft materials (MSMs), a novel class of composites that transform under magnetic fields. It catalogs fundamental “Magneto‐X” effects, classifies materials by their matrix and magnetic fillers, and highlights transformative applications in soft robotics, biomedical devices, flexible electronics, etc. Finally,

Abstract Characteristic remanent magnetizations isolated from the late Variscan Altenberg–Teplice Caldera exhibit paleomagnetic directions, ranging from those consistent with the expected primary Late Carboniferous geomagnetic field to intermediate directions that significantly diverge from the dipole states.

Theory of laser-induced demagnetization at high temperatures [PDF]
Laser-induced demagnetization is theoretically studied by explicitly taking into account interactions among electrons, spins and lattice. Assuming that the demagnetization processes take place during the thermalization of the sub-systems, the temperature

Two types of all-optical magnetization switching mechanisms using femtosecond laser pulses
Magnetization manipulation in the absence of an external magnetic field is a topic of great interest, since many novel physical phenomena need to be understood and promising new applications can be imagined.

Abstract Reconstructing oroclinal orogens along the Fuegian Andes‐northern Antarctic Peninsula provides critical constraints on the pre‐opening tectonic evolution of the Drake Passage, although such efforts are limited by a lack of reliable Cretaceous paleomagnetic and geochronological data.

UNIVERSAL CHARACTERISTICS OF MAGNETIC LOSSES IN ELECTRIC TRACTION MACHINES
The analysis of dependence of the magnetic losses in hauling electric motors on the frequency of armature remagnetization is presented. A universal characteristics of the magnetic losses reduced to the frequency of remagnetization of 50 Hertz is offered.
