Double-Shell Tank Remaining Useful Life Estimates
CORROSION 1997, 1997Abstract The existing 28 double-shell tanks (DSTs) at Hanford are currently planned to continue operation through the year 2028 when disposal schedules show removal of waste. This schedule will place the DSTs in a service life window of 40 to 60 years depending on tank construction date and actual retirement date.

Component Level Replacements: Estimating Remaining Useful Life
2011Condition based maintenance modelling can be used to maximise the availability of key operational components that are subject to condition monitoring processes, such as vibration or oil based monitoring and thermography. This chapter addresses the operational need for a component replacement decision analysis problem utilising available condition ...

Predicting Remaining Life Using Damage Mechanics Principles
ASME 2014 Symposium on Elevated Temperature Application of Materials for Fossil, Nuclear, and Petrochemical Industries, 2014Continuum damage principles have been used to characterize damage occurring in pressurized components operating under creep conditions. Following a review of the concepts of damage and its measurement, analysis has been presented to show how damage can be estimated using continuum damage concepts and how the remaining life can be estimated in terms of ...
