Efficacy of remission-induction regimens for ANCA-associated vasculitis.

open access: yesNew England Journal of Medicine, 2013
BACKGROUND The 18-month efficacy of a single course of rituximab as compared with conventional immunosuppression with cyclophosphamide followed by azathioprine in patients with severe (organ-threatening) antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA ...

Autologous stem cell transplantation as consolidation therapy for patients with peripheral T cell lymphoma in first remission : long-term outcome and risk factors analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This report is a retrospective analysis of 65 patients with peripheral T cell lymphoma (PTCL), who underwent high-dose therapy and autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (autoHCT) as a consolidation of first response achieved with either ...

Wearable Systems of Reconfigurable Microneedle Electrode Array for Subcutaneous Multiplexed Recording of Myoelectric and Electrochemical Signals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A reconfigurable microneedle electrode array integrated system is developed for minimally invasive and transdermal monitoring of subcutaneous electromyography, reactive oxygen species, and pH values. By assembling discrete thumbtack‐shaped microneedles into an array, the system enables multi‐parameter detection with single‐microneedle resolution.

Zeta functions for function fields [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
We introduce new non-abelian zeta functions for curves defined over finite fields. There are two types, i.e., pure non-abelian zetas defined using semi-stable bundles, and group zetas defined for pairs consisting of (reductive group, maximal parabolic subgroup). Basic properties such as rationality and functional equation are obtained.

Antibiotics for induction and maintenance of remission in Crohn's disease.

open access: yesCochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, 2017
BACKGROUND Several antibiotics have been evaluated in Crohn's disease (CD), however randomised controlled trials (RCTs) have produced conflicting results.

Azathioprine-Induced Peripheral T Cell Apoptosis And Drug Response In Patients With Crohn’s Disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Background and Aim: the long time interval for a trial of thioupurine therapy and the potential side effects in spite of the proven efficacy, do not encourage their use as early therapeutic option in Crohn’s Disease (CD).

The Nuclear Receptor NR1B1/RARα Arrests the Differentiation of Anti‐Tumor Effector Cytotoxic T Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RARα is highly expressed by differentiated effector and exhausted T cells and exerts a negative effect on effector T cell differentiation and the associated trafficking receptor switch. Upregulated RARα levels decrease the nuclear histone acetylase (HAT) activity, and this suppresses the expression of key Teff transcription factor BATF and trafficking ...

On the age-, time- and migration dependent dynamics of diseases [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
This paper generalizes a previously published differential equation that describes the relation between the age-specific incidence, remission, and mortality of a disease with its prevalence. The underlying model is a simple compartment model with three states (illness-death model).

The PML-RAR alpha transcript in long-term follow-up of acute promyelocytic leukemia patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Background and Objectives. Detection of PML-RAR alpha transcripts by RT-PCR is now established as a rapid and sensitive method for diagnosis of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), Although the majority of patients in longterm clinical remission are ...
