Hodge Decomposition of the Remittance Network on the XRP ledger in the Price Hike of January 2018 [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
This study analyzes the remittance transaction recorded on the XRP ledger for ETH and USD from July 2017 to Jun 2018, including the bubble period in early 2018. Using the Hodge decomposition, we estimate the ``loop flow'' in the international remittance of cryptoassets during the bubble period.

Nonlinear Effects of Remittances on Per Capita GDP Growth in Bangladesh

open access: yesEconomies, 2017
This paper examines the impact of inward remittances flows on per capita gross domestic product (GDP) growth in Bangladesh during 1976–2012. We find that the growth effect of remittances is negative at first but becomes positive at a later stage ...

Spectral Remittances of Chiral Sculptured Zirconia Thin Films in Non-axial propagation [PDF]

open access: yesJ.Mod.Optics55 2347(2008), 2010
The transmission and reflection spectra from a right-handed chiral sculptured zirconia thin film are calculated using the piecewise homogeneity approximation method and the Bruggeman homogenization formalism and considering that the dispersion of dielectric function happens in non-axial propagation state.

Remittances and temporary migration [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Development Economics, 2010
In this paper we study the remittance behavior of immigrants and how it relates to temporary versus permanent migration plans. We use a unique data source that provides unusual detail on remittances and return plans, and follows the same household over time. Our data allows us also to distinguish between different purposes of remittances.

Fertility, economic development, and remittances in post-communist times

open access: yesJournal of Maps
This study investigates fertility responses to remittances across developed and developing countries in post-communist times. We first collected fertility, remittances, and income statistics over the 1995–2020 period and created a new vulnerability index

Remittances, financial development and economic growth in sub-Saharan African countries: evidence from a PMG-ARDL approach

open access: yesFinancial Innovation, 2019
The study investigated the relationship among remittances, financial development and economic growth in a panel of 20 sub-Saharan African countries over the period of 2000 and 2015.

Migration Remittances Inflows and Macroeconomic Shocks: The Case of Egypt

open access: yesInternational Journal of Economics and Financial Issues, 2015
This paper explores to what extent Egyptian remittances inflows serve as a hedge against macroeconomic shocks. This is the first study applied on Egypt focusing on both the determinants of remittances and their cyclical behavior at the same time.

Third method for generation of spectral holes in chiral sculptured thin films [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Communications 250, 105-110 (2005), 2019
The introduction of either a central layer defect or a central twist defect in a periodic structurally chiral material generates circular-polarization-sensitive spectral holes in the remittance spectrums for normally incident plane waves. We propose and theoretically establish here the third method to generate such spectral holes using two-section ...

Cellular liquid biopsy provides unique chances for disease monitoring, preclinical model generation and therapy adjustment in rare salivary gland cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We quantified and cultured circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of 62 patients with various cancer types and generated CTC‐derived tumoroid models from two salivary gland cancer patients. Cellular liquid biopsy‐derived information enabled molecular genetic assessment of systemic disease heterogeneity and functional testing for therapy selection in both ...
