Experimental Study on Strength Characteristics of Unsaturated Remolded Loess
IACGE 2013, 2013In order to study the unsaturated, remolded strength characteristics of loess, loess in a region of Gansu is selected for remolded samples. By using direct shear apparatus for unsaturated soils made by GDS of the UK, 12 unsaturated direct shear tests are made.

Dynamic properties of Tianshui saturated remolded loess: A laboratory study
Engineering Geology, 2020Abstract Tianshui City is located in an earthquake-prone area of China that has experienced many earthquake-induced loess landslides. The formation of such landslides is closely related to the dynamic properties and residual deformation characteristics of the loess when seismically loaded. However, the loess dynamics under earthquakes in the Tianshui

Study on Microstructure of Remolded Loess Using Computerized Tomography
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013The change of micro-structure of the remolded loess is analyzed from the CT numbers and CT images during the uniaxial creep process. It is found that there are quite complex cracks distributed on each layer in the loess during that process. The cracks are not distributed along the radial direction regularly, and the lateral deformation is not obvious.

Dynamic behavior of remolded loess under planar shock conditions
International Journal of Impact Engineering, 2018Abstract Utilizing a single-stage light gas gun the plane shock-wave experiments were performed in order to determine the dynamic behavior of the remolded loess whose density was 1.8 g/cm3 and saturation degree was 22% at stress levels between 0.2 and 1.6 GPa.

Bulletin of Engineering Geology and the Environment, 2020
As a natural foundation and fill material for construction in loess areas, there exists a significant impact on the stability of the engineering construction due to the permeation characteristics of the eolic sediment Malan loess. In this study, a series of air permeability tests were conducted for intact loess and remolded loess by using an improved ...

Experimental Study on Induced Anisotropies of Remolded Loess in Cold Region
2020To improve the understanding of the influence of induced anisotropy on the strength and deformation characteristics of loess, a series of directional HCA tests under consolidated-drained condition were conducted. The test results indicated that the remolded loess showed a pronounced anisotropy in stress–strain relationship, strength, and deformation ...

Effects of Induced Anisotropies on Strength and Deformation Characteristics of Remolded Loess
2018In order to better explain the influence of induced anisotropy on the strength and deformation characteristics of loess, a complex stress path experiment of induced anisotropy of the remolded loess was carried out by using a hollow cylinder apparatus.

True Triaxial Apparatus With Rigid-Flexible-Flexible Boundary and Remolded Loess Testing
Journal of Testing and Evaluation, 2017Abstract Several kinds of true triaxial apparatuses have been devised and applied to obtaining the strength and deformability behavior of soils under different stress paths. However, for these true triaxial apparatuses with flexible loading boundaries boundary interference is still not solved.
