Restoration of Oyster (Crassostrea virginica) Habitat for Multiple Estuarine Species Benefits [PDF]
Increase in nitrogen concentration and declining eelgrass beds in Great Bay Estuary have been observed in the last decades. These two parameters are clear indicators of the impending problems for NH’s estuaries.

Linking goniometer measurements to hyperspectral and multi-sensor imagery for retrieval of beach properties and coastal characterization [PDF]
In June 2011, a multi-sensor airborne remote sensing campaign was flown at the Virginia Coast Reserve Long Term Ecological Research site with coordinated ground and water calibration and validation (cal/val) measurements.

Photothermal, macroporous lignin‐based cryogels are engineered to convert sunlight into low‐grade heat. Integrated as stacked beds in a drum‐type device, a thin copper interlayer transfers waste heat between beds, enabling interlayer heat recovery and continuous solar cycling.

Contribution of leaf specular reflection to canopy reflectance under black soil case using stochastic radiative transfer model [PDF]
Numerous canopy radiative transfer models have been proposed based on the assumption of “ideal bi-Lambertian leaves” with the aim of simplifying the interactions between photons and vegetation canopies.

The influence of coherent waves on the remotely sensed reflectance
Oceanic waves have been found to contribute enhanced back-scattering in the direction of the illumination source in studies that assumed the ocean surface to be a random sum of waves. Here we investigate enhanced back-scattering by coherent capillary-gravity wave trains that co-exist near the crests of short gravity waves in the ocean. We find that the

Meta‐Rod Mechanical Metamaterials With Programmable Reconfiguration
Existing mechanical metamaterials achieve programmable large deformations in planar square or cubic configurations, restricted by required complex boundary conditions. This research proposes a 1D metamaterial, Meta‐rod, with linear, bending, twisting, area, and volume deformation modes.

In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

A Stepwise BRDF-Based Land Surface Reflectance Model Over Rugged Terrain
The land surface reflectance is an essential variable of remote sensing, which is significantly affected by topography and atmosphere. Rugged terrain significantly alters the radiative transfer among the solar-terrain-sensor, resulting in large errors in
