Yield estimation of winter wheat in the North China Plain using the remote-sensing–photosynthesis–yield estimation for crops (RS–P–YEC) model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The accurate prediction of crop yield is of great help for grain policy making. By assuming a horizontally homogeneous, vertically laminar structure and introducing a multilayer-two-big-leaf model, we develop a radiative-transfer equation for winter ...

Field‐Programmed Anisotropy in Magneto‐Piezoelectric Composites for Material‐Encoded Mechanoperception

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Field‐programmed anisotropy imparts material‐level intelligence to soft composites. Magnetic torque dynamics drive magneto‐piezoelectric nanowires from random dispersion into deterministic axial alignment. The resulting hierarchical percolation networks confine electromechanical coupling to specific axes and intrinsically decouple superposed force ...

RS-vHeat: Heat Conduction Guided Efficient Remote Sensing Foundation Model

open access: yes2025 IEEE/CVF International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV)
Remote sensing foundation models largely break away from the traditional paradigm of designing task-specific models, offering greater scalability across multiple tasks. However, they face challenges such as low computational efficiency and limited interpretability, especially when dealing with large-scale remote sensing images.

Organic–Inorganic Hybrid Hole‐Selective Layer Interface Engineering for Enhanced Photoelectrochemical Water Oxidation on Bismuth Vanadate Photoanodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In this research the [4‐(3,6‐dimethyl‐9H‐carbazol‐9‐yl)butyl] phosphonic acid (Me‐4PACz) self‐assembled monolayers (SAMs) to bond with NiOx is first designed to be the organic‐inorganic hybrid hole‐selective layers, which promotes the BiVO4 photoanodes photoelectrochemical water splitting performance with 6.9 mA cm−2 photocurrent at 1.23 VRHE and at ...

Uni-RS: A Spatially Faithful Unified Understanding and Generation Model for Remote Sensing

open access: yesCoRR
Unified remote sensing multimodal models exhibit a pronounced spatial reversal curse: Although they can accurately recognize and describe object locations in images, they often fail to faithfully execute the same spatial relations during text-to-image generation, where such relations constitute core semantic information in remote sensing.

Operation Limits of Integrated Photo‐Rechargeable Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study elucidates the operational limitations of integrated photo‐rechargeable batteries. We demonstrate that the photo‐charging process is fundamentally restricted not only by material‐to‐material energy level alignment but also by transient capacitive charge accumulation within the cathode framework.

Building capacity in remote sensing for conservation: present and future challenges [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Remote sensing (RS) has made significant contributions to conservation and ecology; however, direct use of RS-based information for conservation decision making is currently very limited.

Electrically Coded Retinomorphic Spectrophotodetector

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐powered retinomorphic pyro‐photodetector is demonstrated that avoids machine‐learning post‐processing and covers 365–940 nm. Electrostatic balancing of built‐in potential produces an electrical wavelength code, delivering <3 nm wavelength decoding accuracy with ∼46 µs response.
