Remote Viewing: Failures to Replicate with Control Comparisons

open access: yes, 1979
The paranormal phenomenon termed “remote viewing” was investigated using procedures employed in successful demonstrations of the phenomenon. 20 selected college students volunteered as receivers and were given two “remote viewing” trials.

GelMA‐based 3D spheroids recapitulate transcriptomic and functional hallmarks of myeloid sarcoma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
GelMA 5% hydrogels support the formation of myeloid leukemia spheroids that recapitulate MS‐specific features, including G1 arrest, apoptosis, and ECM‐driven transcriptomic reprogramming. The 3D model mimicked soft‐tissue‐like stiffness and oxygen conditions, and transcriptomic convergence with primary MS samples confirmed its utility as a preclinical ...

Glint Removal Assessment to Estimate the Remote Sensing Reflectance in Inland Waters with Widely Differing Optical Properties

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
The quality control of remote sensing reflectance (Rrs) is a challenging task in remote sensing applications, mainly in the retrieval of accurate in situ measurements carried out in optically complex aquatic systems. One of the main challenges is related

A minimal cellulosome‐like system in Cellulosilyticum lentocellum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cellulose‐degrading bacteria typically use cellulosomes, large multi‐enzyme complexes on a scaffold protein. In Cellulosilyticum lentocellum, we characterise a far smaller arrangement, a single scaffold bound to one cellulase through a single cohesin‐dockerin interaction.

Eye to Eye Fundus Imaging with Ophthalmic Wand - Anytime! Anywhere!!

open access: yesKerala Journal of Ophthalmology, 2021
Conventionally, fundus camera is the only source for taking retinal images. With the advent of smartphones, fundus photography has become more portable, simpler, cheaper, and easier. Various techniques of fundus imaging with smartphones were put forth in

Determinants of undergraduate bioscience engagement: Validating attendance barriers and classroom spatial behaviour across institutions

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Student engagement extends beyond simple attendance. Across 891 bioscience students from three universities, attendance behaviour was associated mainly with structural influences, whereas classroom spatial behaviour reflected affective and sensory factors.

Understanding and Mitigating the Risk of Accelerated Biological Aging in Survivors of Cancer: A Scoping Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Cancer treatment is associated with measurable acceleration of biological aging across epigenetic, telomere, senescence, and immune biomarkers. However, biomarker validation and interventional strategies remain limited, especially in hematologic malignancies, underscoring the need for standardized multi‐omic aging assessments and adequately powered ...
