Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Possibility of using plasma-processed hybrid nanofibers to remove toluene in air stream

open access: yesبهداشت و ایمنی کار, 2019
Introduction: Despite nanofibers have attracted great interests for filtering particulate matters from the air stream, fewer studies have been done on the feasibility of their use in the removal of gas pollutants, while the both pollutants are present in

Removal of Arsenic (III) from groundwater applying a reusable Mg-Fe-Cl layered double hydroxide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
BACKGROUND: Layered double hydroxide compounds (LDHs) have been applied for the removal of oxyanions including arsenate (As(V)). However, the aim of this present research is to develop a LDH to treat arsenite (As(III)).

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Fine and ultrafine particle removal efficiency of new residential HVAC filters.

open access: yesIndoor Air: International Journal of Indoor Environment and Health, 2019
Particle air filters used in central residential forced-air systems are most commonly evaluated for their size-resolved removal efficiency for particles 0.3-10 µm using laboratory tests. Little information exists on the removal efficiency of commercially

Performance of silica-supported copper oxide sorbents for SOx/NOx-removal from flue gas II. Selective catalytic reduction of nitric oxide by ammonia [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of nitric oxide by ammonia was studied for silica-supported copper oxide particles to be used as a sorbent/catalyst in a continuous process for the simultaneous removal of SOx and NOx from flue gases.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox
