Renal transplant arterial stenosis: percutaneous transluminal angioplasty [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Roentgenology, 1983
Seven hypertensive patients underwent percutaneous transluminal angioplasty for relief of arterial stenosis complicating renal allotransplantation. Five had end-to-side anastomosis of the donor renal artery to the recipient external iliac artery, and two had end-to-end anastomosis of the donor renal artery to the recipient internal iliac artery.

Intima‐Media Thickness Progression Rate and Primary Unassisted Patency Failure in Arteriovenous Fistulas: A Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesHemodialysis International, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Failure of autogenous arteriovenous fistulas (AV fistulas) due to venous neointimal hyperplasia is a major clinical challenge. Whether the rate of progression in venous intima‐media thickness predicts primary unassisted patency failure remains unknown.

Allograft dysfunction and parenchymal necrosis associated with renal artery stenosis and perigraft hematoma after kidney transplantation

open access: yesKorean Journal of Transplantation, 2020
Transplant renal artery stenosis (TRAS) is one cause of allograft dysfunction. TRAS causes parenchymal necrosis and graft insufficiency. Herein, we report the case of a 40-year-old female with end-stage renal disease due to immunoglobulin A nephropathy ...

Back‐up arteriovenous fistula in peritoneal dialysis patients: a retrospective cohort study of long‐term meaningful outcomes

open access: yesInternal Medicine Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Back‐up arteriovenous fistula (bAVF) is used in peritoneal dialysis (PD) to avoid haemodialysis transfer via a central venous catheter (CVC). However, no previous study examined mortality or complications associated with bAVF creation.

Cardiovascular preventive role of thiazolidinedione in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
Among patients with type 2 diabetes undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention, thiazolidinedione use was independently associated with a significantly reduced risk of a composite of myocardial infarction, stroke, and all‐cause death, notably without an increased risk of admission for heart failure. ABSTRACT Background Thiazolidinediones (TZD) are a

A Forgotten Cause of Chronic Dizziness in the Elderly: Exercise‐Induced Vertebrobasilar Insufficiency due to Grade III Subclavian Steal Syndrome

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Chronic dizziness in elderly patients, particularly when reproducibly triggered by upper limb exertion, should prompt evaluation for arm‐exertion‐provoked vertebrobasilar hypoperfusion due to subclavian steal syndrome. Duplex ultrasonography can identify complete retrograde vertebral artery flow and confirm complete Grade III subclavian steal ...
