Adaptations in control of blood flow with training: splanchnic and renal blood flows
Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, 1998Acute exercise is associated with large increases in cardiac and active skeletal muscle blood flows and reduced blood flows to inactive muscle, skin, kidneys, and organs served by the splanchnic circulation. Splanchnic and renal blood flows are reduced in proportion to relative exercise intensity.

Renal blood flow autoregulation in blood pressure control
Current Opinion in Nephrology and Hypertension, 2002Although the kidney strives to maintain its perfusion within tight boundaries, considerable blood flow fluctuations do occur. The reasons for this are the rather slow acting compensatory mechanisms of renal blood flow autoregulation, the effects of renal nerves, hormonal influences, etc.
