Pretransplant Malnutrition Risk Components are Associated With Adverse Outcomes After Simultaneous Pancreas and Kidney and Solitary Pancreas Transplantation

open access: yesClinical Transplantation, Volume 40, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Malnutrition is common among patients with end‐organ disease. The impact of any criterion of malnutrition (weight loss, muscle depletion, fat depletion, inadequate oral intake, or reduced functionality) pretransplant among simultaneous pancreas‐kidney (SPK) or solitary pancreas transplant (SPT) recipients is understudied. Bioelectrical Impedance in Pediatric Dialysis: Clinical Applications, Limitations, and Opportunities

open access: yesHemodialysis International, Volume 30, Issue 3, Page 486-498, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Optimizing fluid and nutritional management is a cornerstone of care for children with end‐stage kidney disease on dialysis. Inaccurate assessment of hydration status contributes to hypertension, fluid overload, and increased cardiovascular risk, while masking important changes in muscle and fat compartments that affect growth and ...
