This study presents decursin, a traditional Chinese medicine monomer, that inhibits lipid accumulation and inflammation in atherosclerosis through PKCδ interaction. A novel targeted delivery system (ALD@EM) is developed to overcome decursin's short half‐life, combining antibody‐mediated targeting, LDL‐facilitated chemotaxis, and enhanced macrophage ...

Hypothyroidism and nephrotic syndrome: why, when and how to treat [PDF]
Hypothyroidism, characterised by low/normal free thyroxine (FT4) and free tri-iodothyronine (FT3) with elevated thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), is a well-known complication of nephrotic syndrome (NS).

SCORT–Cas13d–pre‐gHoxB13 lipid nanoparticles precisely deliver Cas13d mRNA and guide RNAs to metastatic prostate tumors in the liver, knocking down the “undruggable” transcription factor HoxB13. This approach suppresses metastatic tumor growth, extends mouse survival, and does not induce major organ toxicity or immune activation, offering a safe and ...

Sodium homeostasis in dogs with chronic renal insufficiency
Volume homeostasis in the fasting rate and 24-hr sodium balance are maintained in chronic renal insufficiency as a result of adaptations in the residual nephrons. This study evaluates the limitations to these adaptations and the dynamics of sodium excretion (UNaV) after an acute challenge with 100 mEq of sodium chloride in normal dogs (GFR 50 ml/min ...

The TALENTs randomized controlled trial evaluates the potential of nucleotides supplementation as an anti‐aging intervention in older adults. After 19 weeks, nucleotides supplementation significantly reduces DNA methylation age, suggesting a delay in epigenetic aging, and improves insulin sensitivity without severe adverse events.

Establishment of a integrative multi-omics expression database CKDdb in the context of chronic kidney disease (CKD) [PDF]
Complex human traits such as chronic kidney disease (CKD) are a major health and financial burden in modern societies. Currently, the description of the CKD onset and progression at the molecular level is still not fully understood.

Through a comprehensive multi‐omics analysis, this study identifies a marked reduction in Nephronectin (NPNT) expression within fibrotic lung tissue. This reduction impairs the binding capability to the ITGA3 receptor, consequently causing YAP1 to persist in the cytoplasm, where it undergoes degradation.

Treatment of Hypertension in Chronic Renal Insufficiency.
Hypertension is the most common complication of chronic renal insufficiency (CRI) and it accelerates the rate of progression of most forms of CRI. Several large clinical trials have clearly demonstrated the efficacy of antihypertensive treatment for prevention of progression of renal failure.

Multi‐Omics and ‐Organ Insights into Energy Metabolic Adaptations in Early Sepsis Onset
This study shows that patients at risk of sepsis have a distinct metabolite and lipid signature, including serine and aminoadipic acid, in their serum before clinical diagnosis. A mouse model of sepsis with a compatible serum signature reveals underlying metabolic changes, including mitochondrial adaptation, altered serine‐dependent purine metabolism ...

Hyperlipoproteinemia in experimental chronic renal insufficiency in the rat
Lipid metabolism was studied in experimental uremia. Uremic (U) rats were compared with sham-operated, pair-fed (PF) controls and with ad-lib-fed (AL) controls. In U animals, fasting glucose concentrations were normal, immunoreactive serum insulin (IRI) levels were decreased, and immunoreactive glucagon levels were increased.
