In this study, the effect of the accelerated weathering process on some surface properties of heat-treated sweet bay wood (Laurus nobilis L.) was investigated. Wood samples were heat-treated at 160 ℃, 180 ℃, 200 ℃and 210 ℃ for 2 hours.

Angular hadron correlations probing the early medium evolution [PDF]
Hard processes are a well calibrated probe to study heavy-ion collisions. However, the information to be gained from the nuclear suppression factor R_AA is limited, hene one has to study more differential observables to do medium tomography.

What to learn from dilepton transverse momentum spectra in heavy-ion collisions? [PDF]
Recently the NA60 collaboration has presented high precision measurements of dimuon spectra double differential in invariant mass $M$ and transverse pair momentum $p_T$ in In-In collisions at $158 {\rm AGeV}$. While the $M$-dependence is important for an

Dimuon transverse momentum spectra as a tool to characterize the emission region in heavy-ion collisions [PDF]
Previous dilepton measurements in heavy-ion collisions have mainly focused on invariant mass spectra to clarify in-medium changes of vector meson properties.

From R_AA via correlations to jets - the long road to tomography
The main motivation to investigate hard probes in heavy ion collisions is to do tomography, i.e. to infer medium properties from the in-medium modification of hard processes.

Through the blackness -- high p_T hadrons probing the central region of 200 AGeV Au-Au collisions
The energy loss of high p_T partons propagating through a hot and dense medium is regarded as a valuable tool to probe the medium created in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. The angular correlation pattern of hadrons associated with a hard trigger
