Local renormalization group functions from quantum renormalization group and holographic bulk locality [PDF]
The bulk locality in the constructive holographic renormalization group requires miraculous cancellations among various local renormalization group functions. The cancellation is not only from the properties of the spectrum but from more detailed aspects

Stochastic Electrodynamics: Renormalized Noise in the Hydrogen Ground-State Problem
The hydrogen ground-state problem is a touchstone for the theory of Stochastic Electrodynamics. Recently, we have shown numerically and theoretically that the H-atom self-ionizes after a characteristic time.

We propose that the consistent field renormalization of gravity requires a specific Weyl transformation of the metric tensor. As a consequence, proper length and time, as well as energy and momentum, become functions of scale. We estimate the functional form of the field renormalization factor by imposing a minimum resolvable distance scale under an ...

Dynamical renormalization of black-hole spacetimes [PDF]
We construct a black-hole spacetime which includes the running of the gravitational coupling in a self-consistent way. Starting from a classical Schwarzschild black hole, the backreaction effects produced by the running Newton’s coupling are taken into ...

Renormalization aspects of N=1 Super Yang-Mills theory in the Wess-Zumino gauge [PDF]
The renormalization of N=1 Super Yang-Mills theory is analysed in the Wess-Zumino gauge, employing the Landau condition. An all orders proof of the renormalizability of the theory is given by means of the Algebraic Renormalization procedure.

The paper discusses the role of scale anomaly in generating edge electric currents via the scale magnetic effect in scalar electrodynamics. Although the boundary electric current is much weaker than the Meissner current induced in superconducting materials, the scale anomaly can enhance conductivity near the boundary of the material.

Photo-Induced Bandgap Renormalization Governs the Ultrafast Response of Single-Layer MoS2. [PDF]
Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) are emerging as promising two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors for optoelectronic and flexible devices. However, a microscopic explanation of their photophysics, of pivotal importance for the understanding and ...

Renormalized entanglement entropy and curvature invariants [PDF]
Renormalized entanglement entropy can be defined using the replica trick for any choice of renormalization scheme; renormalized entanglement entropy in holographic settings is expressed in terms of renormalized areas of extremal surfaces. In this paper we show how holographic renormalized entanglement entropy can be expressed in terms of the Euler ...

Neural Network Renormalization Group [PDF]
We present a variational renormalization group (RG) approach based on a reversible generative model with hierarchical architecture. The model performs hierarchical change-of-variables transformations from the physical space to a latent space with reduced
