Human‐Scale Rotating Magnetic Field Delivery With Permanent Magnets Under Anatomic and Robotic Constraints

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Rotating magnetic fields (RMFs) are widely used for microrobot propulsion and control. We show that RMF generation with permanent magnets is mechanically feasible for many limb and intracranial applications but becomes constrained for thoracic targets.

Microscale Mapping of Fiber Strain and Damage in Composite Wrinkled Laminates Using Computed Tomography Assisted Wide‐Angle X‐Ray Scattering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

Rental Amenities and the Stability of Hedonic Prices: A Comparative Analysis of Five Market Segments [PDF]

open access: yes
The current paper applies the hedonic approach to five rental submarkets in the Quebec region, namely Quebec City, Vanier, Ste-Foy, Beauport and Charlesbourg. The databank consists of information obtained from property owners via a yearly survey; some 32,

In Situ Genetic Engineering Facilitates MMP‐9‐Responsive TIMP1 Release Through Proteolytic Cleavage to Boost Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops an MMP‐9‐responsive protein release system that transforms resident cells into drug depots through in situ genetic engineering. Anchored to the membrane, the therapeutic protein TIMP1 is selectively released upon MMP‐9 cleavage.

A study on the secular change of residents’ population structure in different housing types in a suburb of Tokyo

open access: yesJapan Architectural Review, 2018
This study aims to clarify the secular change of population structure by housing type and the resident movement, which is thought to be the primary cause of the population structure's secular change.

Spatial modelling of the householders' perception and assessment of the potentiality to improve the urban green coverage in residential areas: A case study from Issadeen Town Matara, Sri Lanka

open access: yesRuhuna Journal of Science, 2018
Urban forestry has become an important concept in modern city planning for many reasons. Different forms of urban green spaces can be seen in towns as open spaces, tree belts, parks and home gardens.

Data‐Driven Modeling of Composition–Processing–Microstructure Relations for Recycled Aluminum Cast Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Interpretable machine learning reveals how composition and processing govern the formation and microstructural burden of Fe‐rich intermetallic compounds in recycled Al–Si–Fe–Mn alloys. By separating morphology selection from morphology‐conditioned burden partitioning, this framework shows that identical Fe contents can yield different intermetallic ...
