Reparametrization of paths in manifolds

Il Nuovo Cimento B Series 11, 1991
We discuss some aspects of the construction of the principal fiber bundleEiI→EiI/Aut(I), whereEiI is the space of free and injective paths in an arbitrary topological spaceE, and Aut(I) is the group of automorphisms of the interval. The connection with quantum mechanics in the path integral formalism is presented, and it is qualitatively shown the ...

Möbius reparametrizations of rational B-splines

Computer Aided Geometric Design, 1991
The authors prove that the reparametrization of a rational \(B\)-spline curve by means of a Möbius transformation again yields a rational \(B\)- spline curve. This shows that a contrary claim due to Farin [\textit{G. Farin}, Mathematical methods in computer aided geometric design, Pap. Int. conf., Oslo/Norw. 1988, 215-238 (1989; Zbl 0677.41012)] cannot

Reparametrizations and differential geometry

1988
It is often pertinent for the statistician to investigate how various quantities, such as combinants or arrays of combinants or confidence regions, behave under reparametrizations of the given statistical model. In particular, it is of interest to know whether the quantities are parametrization invariant, as discussed in section 1.3.

Analytic mixing reparametrizations of irrational flows

Ergodic Theory and Dynamical Systems, 2002
Summary: We give an example of a strictly positive analytic reparametrization (or time change) of an irrational flow on \(\mathbb T^3\) that is mixing. As an immediate application we obtain perturbations of completely integrable Hamiltonian systems that display many invariant tori on which the restricted dynamics is mixing.

Inversion, Degree and Reparametrization for Rational Surfaces

2007
Let P be a rational affine parametrization of an algebraic surface ν, and let ϕP : K2 → v t → P(t) be the rational map induced by P. In this survey, we consider three different problems. First we deal with the problem of deciding whether ϕP is birational (i.e.
