Never‐Smoking Is Associated With Histologic Remission in Ulcerative Colitis: A Post‐Hoc Analysis of the VIEWS Randomised Controlled Trial

This post‐hoc analysis of the VIEWS trial found that ulcerative colitis patients on vedolizumab who had never smoked were significantly more likely to achieve histologic remission than ex‐smokers. Smoking history emerged as the only independent predictor of histologic remission, suggesting lasting adverse effects of prior smoking exposure.
