Risk of recurrence of repeat breeding in sows with a repeat breeding in the first parity.
Journal of Animal Science, 1996Risk of recurrence of repeat breeding in sows with a repeat breeding in the 1st parity was investigated in 241 sow herds (1985-1990). The association between repeat breeding in the 1st and subsequent parities was examined using data on 9,120 sows. Each sow contributed only one pair of observations to the total data set. Occurrence of repeat breeding in

Comparative fertility of normal and repeat-breeding cows as embryo recipients
Theriogenology, 1985Morphologically normal embryos were transferred surgically into uteri of normal and repeat-breeder cows at seven days post-estrus to compare embryo survival rates in the two kinds of cows. All cows were less than ten years of age and had no abnormal genital discharges, cystic ovarian follicles, or anatomical abnormalities of the reproductive tract ...

Aquapuncture Therapy of Repeat Breeding in Dairy Cattle
The American Journal of Chinese Medicine, 2002Repeat breeders cause great economic loss in dairy herds. This study determined the efficacy of simple aquapuncture therapy (acupuncture combined with injection) to treat repeat breeders in two dairy herds (one in Hsinchu County and the other in Tainan County).

Repeatability of wing molt timing of mallards in relation to breeding
Canadian Journal of Zoology, 1990We measured dates of first egg laid, last egg laid, last incubation and start of wing molt for 80 pairs of captive mallards (Anas platyrhynchos) from 1973 to 1975. We calculated annual repeatability of these variables within individuals as [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text] is the among-individuals variance and s2 is the within-individuals

Estimation of repeatability, heritability and breed differences for lamb production.
Journal of animal science, 1983Production records of crossbred ewes, including weight at mating (WTM), fertility (FRT), number of lambs born per ewe lambing (BRN), number of lambs weaned (WEN), litter weight in April (WTA) and litter weight at weaning (WTW), were analyzed for the estimation of breed differences, genotype x environment interactions and repeatability and heritability ...

Typical repeat breeding and its improvement in buffaloes.
Beitrage zur tropischen Landwirtschaft und Veterinarmedizin, 1993Propagation problems in buffaloes are often not easily recognizable, particularly lacking are studies on the repeat breeding syndrome. In the present study repeat breeder buffaloes were inseminated 3 or more times within the same lactation period. The incidence of typical repeat breeders was 8.33% in the lactation herd.
