Single nucleotide polymorphisms from Theobroma cacao expressed sequence tags associated with witches' broom disease in cacao [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In order to increase the efficiency of cacao tree resistance to witches¿ broom disease, which is caused by Moniliophthora perniciosa (Tricholomataceae), we looked for molecular markers that could help in the selection of resistant cacao genotypes.

Short tandem repeats (STR) in cattle genomics and breeding

open access: yesBiotechnology in Animal Husbandry, 2018
Molecular markers are essential tool for determining the specific genetic makeup of an individual and are valuable approach for genetic improvement of farm animals. In cattle breeding their application is useful for improvement of breeding programs for desired traits, better productivity and high quality products. These markers provide more

Repeat Breeding in Cattle and Buffalo

open access: yes, 2022
The presence of a sizable number of repeat breeder cows is one of the most significant loss-causing reproductive issues in dairy cattle that are now prominent at the field level. Repeat breeders have a significant negative impact on both productivity and the economy.

Natural history of Arabidopsis thaliana and oomycete symbioses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Molecular ecology of plant–microbe interactions has immediate significance for filling a gap in knowledge between the laboratory discipline of molecular biology and the largely theoretical discipline of evolutionary ecology.

Interpolation of recurrence and hashing entanglement distillation protocols [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We construct new entanglement distillation protocols by interpolating between the recurrence and hashing protocols. This leads to asymptotic two-way distillation protocols, resulting in an improvement of the distillation rate for all mixed Bell diagonal ...

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.
