Partial agenesis of the corpus callosum: Prenatal ultrasound characteristics, associations, and outcome

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 104, Issue 7, Page 1304-1317, July 2025.
Abnormal cavum septi pellucidi is the most common indirect sign of partial agenesis of corpus callosum (pACC). A cystic mass in the midline that communicates with the third ventricle may be an indirect sign of pACC. PACC is highly associated with intra‐ and extracranial malformations.

A systematic review on the determinants of long‐term kidney sequelae after hypertensive diseases of pregnancy

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 104, Issue 7, Page 1254-1273, July 2025.
This systematic review aimed to evaluate the risk of chronic kidney disease (CKD) after preeclampsia and the determinants of these sequelae. Five authors found a more significant risk of kidney disease after PE, with a risk ranging from two to three times higher.

Risk factors, prenatal diagnosis, and outcome of posterior placenta accreta spectrum disorders in patients with placenta previa or low‐lying placenta: A multicenter study

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 104, Issue 7, Page 1328-1338, July 2025.
Prenatal ultrasound has a low diagnostic accuracy in detecting posterior compared to anterior placenta accreta spectrum disorder. However, posterior placenta accreta spectrum disorders are associated with a lower risk of hysterectomy compared to cases with anterior implantation. Abstract Introduction Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) disorders occur when

Neonatal Inflammation and Feeding Disorders at 1 Year in Infants With Congenital Gastrointestinal Malformations

open access: yesActa Paediatrica, Volume 114, Issue 7, Page 1702-1708, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Aim To investigate the associations between inflammatory markers and the risk of paediatric feeding disorders (PFD) at 1 year of age in infants with congenital gastrointestinal malformations (CGMs). Methods Neonates with CGMs admitted to our NICU and prospectively followed up in our outpatient clinic were included.

Fetal growth restriction adversely impacts trajectory of hippocampal neurodevelopment and function

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 35, Issue 4, July 2025.
Hippocampal neuron dendritogenesis occurs rapidly in late fetal gestation and forms the foundation for connectivity and long term function. Fetal growth restriction caused by placental insufficiency is associated with reduced dendritogenesis in hippocampal neurons, resulting in a significant decrease in the trajectory of neuro‐development.
